About the role
Key Responsibilities
Prepare quarterly financial statements and review accounts from trial balance to final financial statements.
Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards.
Supervise daily accounting operations and maintain proper documentation.
Oversee bank payments, payment vouchers, and regular bank reconciliations.
Review permanent, casual, and contract staff payroll to ensure accurate and timely payments.
Manage customer accounts, receivables, payables, and supplier invoice verification.
Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee asset tagging, verification, and reconciliation.
Ensure proper inventory accounting, stock valuation, and monitoring of stock movements.
Ensure statutory tax compliance, including PAYE, WHT, VAT, CIT, ITF, and NSITF.
Coordinate tax matters and support internal, external, and statutory audits.
Supervise finance and accounts staff and enforce effective internal controls.
Prepare financial reports and analysis to support management decision-making.
Requirements
- A minimum of an HND in Accounting/Accountancy from a reputable institution with at least a 2:2 degree.
- At least 7-10 years hands-on experience.
- Experience in the manufacturing or trading sector.
- ICAN Certified
- Experience using accounting and ERP systems, preferably Odoo
- Managerial or leadership experience is an added advantage.
