Sr. Manager, Healthcare Claims & Revenue Cycle Operations
Intellivo | St. Louis, MO | Full-Time, On-Site
Compensation: $120-130K + bonus
This is an on-site leadership position in our St. Louis office.
Position Summary
Lead a 40+ person healthcare claims operation responsible for managing approximately $1 billion in recovery opportunities.
Intellivo is seeking an experienced healthcare operations leader with a background in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), healthcare claims, payment integrity, insurance operations, claims recovery, subrogation, or other high-volume healthcare financial operations.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Recovery Operations, this leader oversees supervisors and 40+ Case Specialists responsible for investigating, developing, and advancing healthcare recovery opportunities through the recovery lifecycle.
This is a highly visible operational leadership role combining people leadership, healthcare financial operations, data-driven decision-making, capacity management, and ownership of a significant recovery inventory. Success requires a leader who can develop strong frontline leaders, use data to identify opportunities and bottlenecks, prioritize high-value work, and translate operational performance into better financial outcomes.
Why This Role
This is an opportunity to lead a large healthcare financial operation where your decisions directly influence significant financial outcomes.
You’ll have the visibility, data, and leadership responsibility to improve how work is prioritized, how teams perform, and how efficiently high-value recovery opportunities move through the organization.
You will also play an important role in building a more scalable operation by strengthening frontline leadership and using data, workflow technology, capacity planning, and performance management to increase output and improve results.
What You’ll Do
Lead a High-Volume Healthcare Operation
- Lead and develop a team of supervisors and 40+ Case Specialists
- Own performance across case progression, quality, productivity, timeliness, and financial outcomes
- Establish clear expectations and build strong accountability for results
- Ensure high-value and high-risk recovery opportunities receive appropriate attention, escalation, and financial stewardship
Drive Claims Recovery & Revenue Cycle Outcomes
- Ensure healthcare recovery opportunities are thoroughly investigated, accurately developed, and efficiently advanced through the recovery lifecycle
- Establish clear and consistent standards for case quality and progression
- Identify and resolve barriers that could delay case progression or limit financial recovery
- Improve the speed, quality, and consistency of claims development
- Partner closely with attorney recovery leaders to ensure appropriate cases are complete, actionable, and ready for recovery
- Apply strong healthcare claims and Revenue Cycle Management discipline to improve operational and financial outcomes
Use Data & Technology to Improve Performance
- Monitor large case inventories for aging, progression, quality, financial value, risk, and operational barriers
- Use case value, aging, progression, and risk to prioritize inventory and allocate resources
- Analyze operational data and KPIs to identify performance gaps, workflow bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and emerging risks
- Determine whether operational challenges are driven by people, training, capacity, process execution, technology, or workflow
- Use operational data, workflow technology, and performance reporting to improve prioritization, productivity, and scalability
- Translate performance data into clear priorities and actions
- Measure whether operational changes improve throughput, quality, recovery progression, and financial outcomes
Build High-Performing Teams
- Coach and develop supervisors into confident frontline leaders who can coach performance, solve problems, and drive results
- Build a culture of ownership, urgency, accountability, and problem-solving
- Create clear expectations, strong coaching, and accountability for results
- Strengthen organizational capability through effective hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and development
- Build an operation capable of increasing output without requiring proportional increases in headcount
You May Be a Fit If...
- You have led a large healthcare Revenue Cycle Management, claims, payment integrity, insurance, or financial operations team
- You enjoy developing frontline leaders and building strong management capability
- You naturally use data to understand where work is getting stuck and what needs to change
- You are comfortable managing large inventories and prioritizing work based on financial value, age, risk, and opportunity
- You know how to balance people, process, capacity, and technology to improve results
- You are comfortable leading in a performance-oriented environment with measurable expectations for quality, productivity, and financial outcomes
Direct subrogation experience is not required. Strong healthcare operations leadership is more important than knowing Intellivo’s recovery model on day one.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive experience in healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), healthcare claims, payment integrity, insurance operations, claims recovery, subrogation, or another high-volume healthcare financial operation
- 5+ years of people leadership experience, including experience leading supervisors, managers, or team leads
- Demonstrated success leading large, high-volume operational teams with measurable expectations for quality, productivity, timeliness, and financial or operational outcomes
- Experience managing large claims or case inventories
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to use operational data and KPIs to improve performance
- Proven ability to build and develop frontline leaders
- Experience improving workflows, reducing operational bottlenecks, and increasing scalability
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; an equivalent combination of relevant healthcare operations and leadership experience will be considered
What Success Looks Like
- Inventory moves: Recovery opportunities progress efficiently, with high-value cases receiving the right attention and financial stewardship.
- Teams perform: Supervisors and Case Specialists consistently deliver against clear expectations for quality, productivity, timeliness, and outcomes.
- Capacity scales: Staffing and workload are aligned to demand, and increased output does not require proportional increases in headcount.
- Data drives action: Operational risks, bottlenecks, and performance gaps are identified early and translated into action.
- Financial outcomes improve: Better prioritization, case progression, and operational execution translate into stronger recovery outcomes.
