As their teacher, you'll help them build confidence, communicate their needs, explore their interests, and develop the social and emotional skills that will support them for years to come.

You'll read favorite books again and again. Sing songs, get messy, explore outdoors, celebrate tiny victories, and help children work through frustrations with patience and respect.

You're patient, playful, dependable, and genuinely enjoy spending your days with toddlers. You understand that challenging behaviors are often a child's way of communicating, and you respond with calm guidance, empathy, and consistency.

You enjoy getting on the floor, following children's curiosity, encouraging independence, and celebrating the little milestones that make this age so special.

You also value teamwork, communicate well with families and coworkers, and take pride in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

• Create a warm, welcoming classroom where two-year-olds feel safe, respected, and confident.
• Plan and support engaging, play-based experiences inspired by children's interests and developmental needs.
• Encourage language development, independence, problem-solving, and early social skills.
• Guide children through big emotions, conflicts, and transitions using positive, respectful approaches.
• Support daily routines, including diapering, toilet learning, meals, handwashing, and rest time.
• Observe and document children's learning and development.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and inviting classroom environment.
• Build meaningful relationships with families and collaborate with fellow educators.
• Follow New Mexico childcare licensing, health, safety, and program requirements

Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting
• Comfort working with multiple age groups (infant-preschool)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Physical ability to meet job requirements (lifting up to 30 lbs, movement, standing)
• CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass all state-required background checks

Preferred (but not required):

• Early Childhood Education coursework, CDA, or degree
• Experience specifically with toddlers or two-year-olds
• Interest in pursuing additional ECE credentials through the ECECD Scholarship pathway
• Familiarity with Reggio-inspired or play-based early childhood education
