Class A CDL Driver / Warehouse Forklift Operator (Backup Route Driver)

We are seeking a dependable, experienced, and safety-conscious Class A CDL Driver / Warehouse Forklift Operator to join a busy warehouse and distribution operation.

This is a dual-role position that will initially focus on Class A CDL driving responsibilities for approximately the first three months, while the company's primary route driver is on temporary leave. During this period, the selected candidate will primarily handle delivery routes while assisting with light warehouse duties as needed.

Once the primary driver returns, the position will transition to primarily warehouse and forklift operations, with the employee serving as a backup route driver when additional coverage is needed.

The ideal candidate will have previous Class A commercial driving experience, strong forklift operating skills, and the flexibility to transition between driving and warehouse responsibilities based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Class A CDL Driving Responsibilities

• Operate Class A commercial vehicles to complete assigned delivery routes safely and efficiently.
  

• Serve as the primary route driver during the initial coverage period and transition to backup driving responsibilities afterward.
  

• Load, secure, transport, and unload products and materials as required.
  

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  

• Maintain accurate delivery paperwork, inspection reports, and required driving logs.
  

• Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety procedures.
  

• Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries.
  

Warehouse & Forklift Operations

• Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, move, and organize warehouse materials.
  

• Load and unload delivery trucks while ensuring products are handled properly.
  

• Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments.
  

• Assist with picking, staging, and preparing orders for delivery.
  

• Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with general warehouse operations.
  

• Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  

• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
  

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
  

• Previous experience operating Class A commercial vehicles required.
  

• Prior forklift operating experience required.
  

• Previous warehouse, distribution, or material handling experience preferred.
  

• Acceptable driving record.
  

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and commercial vehicle safety requirements.
  

• Ability to safely load, unload, and handle warehouse materials.
  

• Ability to perform physical duties associated with warehouse and delivery operations.
  

• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  

• Dependable attendance and willingness to assist in different areas as needed.
  

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
