Robinette’s is a family-owned business that has been selling outdoor sporting equipment and apparel since 1983. This means they have seen a lot of young hunters grow up. They have a large selection of brand names that hunters and sportsmen can rely on. Robinette’s is a small business whose team truly appreciates swapping stories and helping people find the right gear so they can get the most out of what they buy. Robinette’s goal is to provide knowledgeable and friendly service to every customer.
For a specialty retailer like Robinette’s, a Management & Marketing intern bridges front-of-house customer engagement with back-of-house operations. Small, independent outfitters face distinct modern challenges: preserving decades of authentic community trust while modernizing digital outreach, optimizing retail floor flow, and capitalizing on outdoor seasonality.

- Capture authentic, day-to-day store content (showcasing new inventory drops, trade-ins, counter setups, and customer milestones). (C, P, CSD, T)
- Plan and execute a content calendar anchored in Appalachian hunting seasons, local tournaments, and manufacturer promotions. (C, TW, P, CSD, CT, CTR, T)
- Modernize digital presence across social media platforms and local community boards. (C, P, CSD, CTR, T)

- Evaluate customer foot-traffic patterns to recommend visual merchandising improvements. (C, TW, CSD, CT, CTR, L)

- Partner with regional conservation groups, archery leagues, or outdoor recreation clubs to build local goodwill and foot traffic. (C, TW, P, CSD, CTR, L)
- Assess the customer buying journey—from phone inquiries to counter service and special orders. (C, P, CT, T)
- Explore or pilot a low-friction customer loyalty or service-reminder system (e.g., annual bow stringing or maintenance check-ups). (TW, P, CSD, CT, L)
