About the role
Onsite IT Support Technician – London
Hands-on IT support | AV & meeting room technology | Customer-facing role
Do you enjoy solving IT problems, helping people and making technology work seamlessly?
We're looking for an Onsite IT Support Technician to join our team, delivering hands-on technical support at a client site in central London.
This is a varied, people-facing role where no two days are quite the same. You'll support users across their desktop environment, devices and core IT services, as well as meeting room technology and live events. You'll be someone who enjoys getting stuck into technical challenges, takes ownership of issues and understands the importance of delivering a great customer experience.
You'll work alongside experienced IT teams, gaining exposure to a broad range of technologies and opportunities to develop your technical skills.
The role
Location: Central London (W1)
Working pattern: Onsite, five days per week
Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday
Shifts: Rotating between 8am–4:30pm, 9am–5:30pm and 9:30am–6pm
Lunch: One-hour unpaid break
What you'll be doing
Supporting people and technology
Providing face-to-face and desk-side support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices and Microsoft 365 applications. You'll troubleshoot hardware and software issues, manage user accounts and access, and help keep the working environment running smoothly.
AV and meeting room support
Helping users get the most from meeting room and event technology, including AV equipment, video conferencing and presentation systems. You'll carry out checks, resolve issues and ensure meetings and events run without disruption.
IT infrastructure and systems
Supporting core IT services, including networking, wireless connectivity, servers and virtual environments. You'll work alongside senior technical colleagues on more complex configuration, administration and troubleshooting activities.
Service delivery and ownership
Managing incidents through the service desk, keeping users informed and ensuring issues are resolved within agreed SLAs. You'll document solutions, maintain equipment and asset records, and take ownership of requests from start to finish.
Continuous improvement
Looking for ways to improve how we work, embracing AI and digital tools to reduce manual tasks, improve efficiency and enhance the support experience.
What we're looking for
We're interested in people who have a solid IT support background and enjoy working directly with customers.
You'll ideally bring:
Experience in a customer-facing IT support, service desk or onsite/desk-side support role.
Confidence troubleshooting hardware, software and connectivity issues.
Experience supporting Microsoft 365, including Teams, Exchange, SharePoint and OneDrive.
An understanding of networking, servers and IT infrastructure.
Experience with AV equipment, meeting rooms or event technology.
The ability to prioritise multiple requests and remain calm when things get busy.
A proactive approach, taking ownership of issues rather than simply passing them on.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
Technical knowledge
Experience with some of the following technologies would be beneficial:
Microsoft 365 and licence administration
Active Directory, user and group management
Microsoft Exchange Hybrid
Azure and Conditional Access
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Intune / Mobile Device Management
SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams
VMware, Hyper-V or other virtualisation technologies
Networking, switches, routers and wireless technologies
Server administration, backup and recovery
AV and meeting room technology
You don't need to be an expert in everything. We're looking for someone with a good technical foundation, a willingness to learn and the confidence to develop their skills.
The person we're looking for
Technical ability is important, but so is how you work with people.
You'll be approachable, patient and professional, comfortable supporting everyone from end users to senior stakeholders. You'll enjoy working in a live environment, be able to think on your feet and understand that sometimes the most important part of resolving an issue is how you make the person experiencing it feel.
You'll be organised, adaptable and comfortable balancing competing priorities, while taking pride in delivering a reliable and responsive service.
Interested?
If you're a hands-on IT support professional who enjoys variety, solving problems and delivering great customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
