Job Description Summary:

JOB SUMMARY/SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for assembly of patient trays, setting up and maintaining serving line and area, and keeping tray line area in a clean and orderly condition. Under the direct supervision of the Patient Service Managers, responsible for an assigned shift, five days per week. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.   Serves and replenishes food from counters and steam tables (using a conveyor food belt), and breaks down stations at the end of meal periods.

2.   Cleans and sanitizes workstations, counters, steam tables and other equipment.

3.   Performs dish room activities for ware washing, meeting time lines and regulatory requirements.

4.   Delivers food carts to nursing floors at each meal for distribution.

5.   Picks up trays from patient rooms following each meal bringing, returning carts to Food and Nutrition Service.  Receives, sorts, washes, racks, shelves china and glassware and performs other cleaning as required.

6.   Properly stores, labels and dates food according to hospitals safety and sanitation guidelines with 100% accuracy.

7.   Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

-   High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

 

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:

-   None

 

EXPERIENCE:

-   Six months to one year experience in Health Care food service or related field preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

-   Ability to read, write, follow oral and written directions, and make arithmetic calculations.
