Student laboratory technician

Job Description

Under the supervision of experienced laboratory colleagues, you will assist with:

• Receiving, labeling, and preparing samples for laboratory analysis
• Weighing, homogenizing, diluting, and preparing samples according to laboratory procedures
• Preparation of solutions, reagents, and basic laboratory materials
• Supporting routine chemical analyses
• Handling basic laboratory equipment and instruments after appropriate training
• Recording laboratory data and results accurately
• Cleaning and maintaining laboratory glassware, equipment, and working areas
• Monitoring stocks of laboratory consumables and materials
• Following laboratory procedures, quality requirements, and health & safety rules
• Supporting laboratory technicians and analysts in their daily activities

Qualifications

• Active student status, preferably in chemical engineering, chemistry, food technology, biotechnology, agronomy, pharmacy, environmental sciences, or a related field
• Ability to work at least 20 hours per week
• Interest in laboratory work and analytical testing
• Careful, precise, and responsible approach to work
• Ability to follow written procedures and instructions
• Good organizational skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work independently after appropriate training
• Previous laboratory experience is welcome but not required
