About the role
At Broadridge, we've built a culture where the highest goal is to empower others to accomplish more. If you’re passionate about developing your career, while helping others along the way, come join the Broadridge team.
Broadridge is seeking a senior Solutions Architect Consultant to shape the architecture and technical direction of its Securities-Based Lending products within GTO Wealth. You will work closely with Engineering, Product, SRE/DevOps and Security to turn business needs into secure, scalable and resilient solutions.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role spanning solution design through production delivery. You will guide multiple engineering squads and help evolve strategically important FinTech products used by leading financial institutions.
This is a 12-month consultancy contract with the possibility of an extension.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the solution architecture and technical roadmap for Securities-Based Lending products.
- Translate product roadmaps, business capabilities and non-functional requirements into practical, long-term technical solutions.
- Lead high-level design across applications, APIs, integrations, data, cloud and infrastructure.
- Define architectural patterns for cloud-native, API-first and distributed systems, balancing performance, resilience, security, maintainability and cost.
- Produce clear architecture documentation, including HLDs, diagrams, data flows and ADRs.
- Partner with engineers, technology leads and SRE teams throughout delivery; review designs and resolve architectural risks, dependencies and trade-offs.
- Drive modernisation of existing platforms and promote reusable engineering standards and best practices.
- Embed observability, operability, availability, security and supportability into solution designs.
- Contribute to architecture and security governance, while mentoring engineers and technology leads.
Requirements
- Significant software engineering and architecture experience, ideally 10+ years, including experience as a Solutions, Product or Technical Architect.
- Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale software products in complex environments.
- Strong expertise in Java/Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems and AWS-based solutions.
- Experience designing cloud-native applications using containers, Infrastructure as Code and modern CI/CD practices.
- Strong understanding of API design, integration, service boundaries, data flows, relational data and secure cloud architecture.
- Ability to define and balance non-functional requirements including scalability, availability, resilience, performance, security, observability and maintainability.
- Experience modernising established platforms while supporting ongoing product delivery and backward compatibility.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams across Engineering, Product, Security and SRE/Infrastructure.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; full professional English proficiency.
Highly desirable: experience in financial services, lending, collateral management or regulated environments; SaaS or multi-client enterprise platforms; event-driven architecture; architecture governance; and mentoring senior engineers. AWS or architecture certifications are beneficial but not essential.
Technology Landscape
- Application & Services: Java, Spring Boot, Python, REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architecture
- Cloud & Platform: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes or Nomad, Terraform, Linux
- Data & Integration: PostgreSQL, API and service integration, OpenAPI, OAuth2, JWT
- Front End: Angular, React, TypeScript, JavaScript
- Engineering & Delivery: Git/GitHub, CI/CD, GitHub Actions or Jenkins, Maven or Gradle, automated testing, observability and monitoring
