About the role
WHO WE ARE
At Trustly, we're building a smarter, faster, and more secure financial future by revolutionizing the world of payments. As a global leader in Open Banking Payments, we are establishing Pay by Bank as the new standard at checkout, providing unparalleled freedom, speed, and ease to millions of consumers and merchants worldwide.
Our Ambition: To build the world’s most disruptive payment network and redefine what the payment experience should feel like.
Trustly is a global team of innovators, collaborators, and doers. If you are driven by a strong sense of purpose and thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and high-growth environment, join us and be part of a team that’s transforming the way the world pays.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Talent Acquisition at Trustly is building an industry-leading function that gives the business a real talent advantage. We’re raising the bar on how we assess talent, overhauling our processes, and building the systems and insights that will let Trustly scale.
A big part of our next phase of growth is our Product and Engineering innovation hubs in San Francisco and New York, where we’re building the teams that will shape the future of Pay by Bank. We see ourselves as thought partners to our leaders, not order-takers. We challenge assumptions, solve hard problems, and keep finding better ways to work.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner - Product & Engineering, you’ll help build Trustly’s Product and Engineering organization, with a focus on establishing and scaling our San Francisco and New York hubs. You’ll partner with Product and Engineering leaders as a trusted advisor. You’ll help them define what great looks like, read the market and make better hiring decisions in some of the most competitive talent markets in the world. Sometimes that means telling a VP of Engineering that a req won’t land at its current level, and coming back with options that will.
Success in this role means more than filling positions. It means making Trustly a place top technical talent wants to join, improving the quality of our talent decisions, and leaving our hiring organization stronger than you found it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Advise Product and Engineering leaders on role design, hiring priorities and talent availability, based on a clear understanding of their strategy and team needs.
Build hiring strategies for our San Francisco and New York hubs, using talent mapping, competitor activity, compensation and location dynamics to shape where and how we compete.
Own complex searches end to end, from hiring readiness and search strategy through sourcing, assessment and closing to the handoff into onboarding.
Raise the hiring bar by helping leaders build structured, evidence-based assessments with clear success profiles and interview criteria, and by challenging subjective notions of “fit.”
Use funnel, source and market data to spot risks early, explain tradeoffs and make clear recommendations.
Improve how we hire by identifying recurring problems, testing new approaches, and contributing to our processes, tools, AI use and sourcing strategy.
WHO YOU ARE
7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including at least 4 years recruiting for Engineering, Product or technical roles at tech companies or high-growth startups. You have a track record of closing senior and hard-to-fill searches in competitive markets.
Someone with deep, current knowledge of the Bay Area and New York tech ecosystems: the companies, the talent pools and what candidates care about.
A credible talent talent advisor who challenges senior leaders constructively and uses data and judgment to influence hiring decisions.
Sharp at assessing technical and product talent, and able to help leaders build structured assessment approaches that distinguish genuine evidence of capability from subjective hiring preferences.
A strong sourcer and relationship builder who can engage passive candidates who are weighing multiple offers.
Analytical and solutions-oriented, with the ability to use recruiting data and market signals to diagnose problems, understand root causes and adapt hiring strategies quickly when something is not working.
A builder who thrives in change, takes ownership and is always looking for a better way to do the work.
Applications for this role are accepted on an ongoing basis.
