About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Mixed Signal Design Engineer based in Canada .
This senior engineering role focuses on developing high-speed interfaces and advanced analog and mixed-signal circuits for next-generation interconnect technologies. You will contribute to integrated circuit designs operating at data rates of 25 Gbps and beyond, taking projects from initial concepts through silicon characterization. Working across architecture, transistor-level design, verification, and post-silicon debugging, you will help deliver circuits that meet demanding system performance requirements. The role involves close collaboration with layout engineers and multidisciplinary technical teams. It offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated semiconductor technology supporting innovations across computing, artificial intelligence, graphics, and other advanced applications.
Accountabilities
-
Develop and implement high-speed interfaces and analog circuits for next-generation integrated circuit designs, including solutions operating at 25 Gbps and higher.
-
Define circuit requirements and lead the design process from schematic development and layout guidance through verification and characterization.
-
Perform schematic design using deep-submicron CMOS technologies and industry-standard simulation tools such as Spectre and HSPICE.
-
Take ownership of circuit architecture, transistor-level design, and verification using electronic design automation (EDA) tools, including Cadence Virtuoso.
-
Optimize circuit performance to meet system-level specifications and technical requirements.
-
Collaborate closely with layout engineers, providing floorplan recommendations and guidance on matching techniques and high-speed routing.
-
Develop and execute verification strategies, including testbench environments for component-level and top-level circuit validation.
-
Support post-silicon bring-up, characterization, and debugging to identify and resolve design issues.
-
Contribute technical expertise and problem-solving throughout the integrated circuit development lifecycle.
-
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, with a strong background in analog design, or equivalent practical experience.
-
At least 5 years of industry experience in analog circuit design.
-
Demonstrated experience in CMOS analog and mixed-signal circuit design using deep-submicron processes, particularly FinFET technologies.
-
Proficiency with IC design and verification tools, including Cadence's design environment and analog simulation tools such as Spectre, HSPICE, FineSim, or XA.
-
Experience developing testbench environments for component-level and top-level circuit verification.
-
Knowledge of behavioral modeling for both analog and digital circuits.
-
Strong understanding of analog simulation techniques, including noise analysis, loop stability, AC/DC analysis, transient analysis, and Monte Carlo simulations.
-
Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability and willingness to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
-
Annual base salary range of CAD 165,000–215,000 for Level 4 or CAD 215,000–265,000 for Level 5.
-
Final base salary determined by location, experience, and other objective job-related factors.
-
Eligibility for equity compensation.
-
Employee benefits package.
-
Full-time position with Toronto and remote work options in Canada.
-
Opportunity to contribute to advanced semiconductor and high-speed interconnect technologies.
