Job Title
Senior Material PlannerJob Description
The Senior Material Planner is accountable for material supply continuity and inventory health through disciplined, forward-looking material planning. The role provides visibility to future material risks, drives cross-functional mitigation, and clearly communicates potential business impact to enable timely decisions.
Your role:
- Understand the business assumptions driving material requirements. Maintain a strong understanding of the production plan, demand and supply assumptions, and other inputs represented in the planning system to interpret MRP outputs in the appropriate business context.
- Ensure effective material planning parameters and master data. Establish and continuously improve MRP parameters such as lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, and other relevant material master settings to generate accurate, timely, and optimized supply signals.
- Provide forward-looking material supply visibility. Develop and maintain material supply and inventory projections across the mid- to long-term horizon to anticipate potential shortages, excess inventory, and other supply risks before they impact the business.
- Drive material risks mitigation and communicate business impact. Lead cross-functional actions to mitigate material supply risks while clearly communicating remaining exposure, timing, probability, and potential impact to production, customer commitments, and inventory so stakeholders can make informed decisions.
- Ensure supply continuity throughout the material lifecycle. Partner with Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and other functions to proactively plan for new product introductions, engineering changes, supplier transitions, phase-in/phase-out, last-time buys, and end-of-life activities.
You're the right fit if:
- You’ve acquired 2+ years of experience material planning, supply planning, manufacturing planning, or related supply chain roles.
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field required. Master's degree or relevant professional certification such as APICS CPIM/CSCP is a plus.
- You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
This is an Office role.
