What we're looking for
Our Lifecycle Marketing team owns how customers experience SurveyMonkey from their first interaction with us through renewal and expansion — across both our self-serve and sales-assisted motions.
We’re looking for a senior Lifecycle Marketing leader who can own both sides of that journey: the nurture strategy that moves a sales-assisted prospect toward MQL/SQL, and the automated onboarding, adoption, engagement, and retention programs for our customer base. You’ll bring deep, hands-on expertise across both HubSpot (B2B nurture) and Iterable (self-serve lifecycle), with the judgment to design where those two systems hand off to each other. As a leader, you will coach each owner’s craft and partner closely with peer managers in Customer Advocacy and Education, Integrated Marketing, and with Sales, to represent one coherent view of the customer journey. This role reports to the Director of Product and Lifecycle Marketing and manages the individual contributors who own Email Marketing and Customer Marketing.
What you'll be working on
Set the strategy and operating cadence for Lifecycle Marketing, aligning our Email Marketing channel around one coherent journey that spans sales-assisted nurture and self-serve lifecycle.
Own our B2B nurture strategy in HubSpot that moves qualified prospects toward MQL/SQL, and work with partners to define the fit criteria and handoff logic for routing bad-fit or non-converting prospects into self-serve journeys.
Own our self-serve lifecycle strategy in Iterable: segmentation, personalization, and a testing roadmap covering onboarding, adoption, engagement, and retention — partnering with Marketing Operations, who handle build, send, and deliverability.
Manage, coach, and develop the individual contributors on your team, including their goal-setting, prioritization, and career growth.
Guide customer marketing programs (renewal, expansion, cross-sell) across both self-serve and sales-assisted accounts.
Report on lifecycle performance to senior leadership, connecting program-level metrics to activation, retention, and expansion outcomes.
Partner with Product, Marketing Operations, Data, Sales, and Customer Success to align lifecycle programs with product changes, commercial motions, and account health signals.
Leverage AI where it makes sense to scale up and reach more people, while exerting strong editorial judgment and human-centered program development.
We'd love to hear from people with
8+ years in lifecycle, CRM, or email marketing, including 3+ years directly managing individual-contributor marketers, ideally in SaaS.
Hands-on strategic experience across both a B2B marketing automation platform (HubSpot or comparable) and a self-serve lifecycle ESP (Iterable or comparable, e.g., Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo) — real ownership of segmentation, personalization, and testing in both, not just familiarity with one.
Experience designing routing logic that connects a sales-assisted nurture motion with a self-serve product — knowing when to nurture toward sales & CS and when to redirect to self-serve products and journeys.
A track record leading or closely partnering with customer marketing programs (renewal, upsell, cross-sell) tied to measurable revenue outcomes.
A record of translating program and cohort data into a clear, prioritized lifecycle strategy for senior stakeholders.
Experience partnering cross-functionally on lead quality and handoff, plus peer teams like Customer Advocacy and Education, Product, Data, and Customer Success.
Bonus: experience at companies running both sales-assisted and self-serve/PLG motions (side by side is ideal).
The base pay provided for this position ranges from CAD $129,200.00/year - $152,000.00/year depending on the geographic market and assuming a full-time schedule. Actual base pay is based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education or training, skills, and experience.
Bonuses may also be offered as part of the total compensation package, in addition to a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; RRSP matching; flexible spending & health savings account; paid holidays; paid time off; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
This opening is for an existing vacancy.
SurveyMonkey believes in-person collaboration is valuable for building relationships, fostering community, and enhancing our speed and execution in problem-solving and decision-making. As such, you will be required to work from our Ottawa office up to 1 day per week.
