About the role
About MassArt:
MassArt's Information Technology team is looking for a Senior Ellucian Technical and Integrations Engineer to own the systems that keep the college running from the Colleague ERP at its core to the web, CRM, and reporting platforms that students, faculty, and staff rely on every day. You'll design how Ellucian Colleague SaaS connects to everything else, build and maintain Ethos-based integrations and data pipelines, and lead members of the Applications Team as MassArt modernizes its systems, including exploring where AI can streamline integration and reporting work.
This is a senior, high-autonomy role reporting directly to the Director of Core Applications, with real latitude to shape how MassArt's core systems evolve.
Founded in 1873 and celebrating over 150 years, Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) is the nation's only independent, freestanding public college of art and design. Located in Boston's hub of arts and culture along the Avenue of the Arts, MassArt enrolls about 2,000 students across 18 disciplines. We're an inclusive community of thinkers, doers, makers, educators, and leaders and we build technology partnerships the same way, by sharing information openly and supporting one another across teams.
Job Description:
This position is governed by the APA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Working Hours: 37.5 Hours
Salary Range : $120,000 - $135,000, annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
What You'll Own
- Integration architecture & delivery: Design, implement, and maintain integrations between Ellucian Colleague SaaS and third-party campus systems (LMS, CRM, payment gateways, and more) using the Ellucian Ethos platform. Use Ellucian SaaS Extensibility tools to customize workflows, pages, and data points without disrupting core system upgrades. Support deployment and configuration of middleware, APIs, and automation tools.
- Data & reporting: Manage data exchange processes and ensure data integrity across enterprise platforms. Design and implement data model additions based on user requirements. Write SQL queries and build custom reports and dashboards for institutional data needs and analytics.
- Reliability & governance: Monitor the performance, availability, and security of integrated services. Maintain documentation for integration architecture, workflows, and technical procedures. Ensure compliance with institutional data governance, security, and privacy policies.
- Leadership & collaboration: Lead members of the Core Applications Team. Collaborate with third-party vendors, end users, and internal IT teams to support system interoperability and troubleshoot integration issues. Contribute to enterprise-wide system conversions, modernization efforts, and the team's knowledgebase practices.
- Innovation: Identify opportunities where AI can be applied to solve integration and optimization problems, and participate in cross-functional projects supporting digital transformation.
Note: Responsibilities are subject to change to meet the evolution of college needs and technology advancements, and other duties may be assigned by the CITO.
