We’re looking for people who love being part of a diverse, global team – and who get excited about making a real-world impact with data.
Job description
Build the partnerships that shape what comes next.
What could you create by bringing together Hitachi enterprise technology, external innovation and a clear commercial vision? At Hitachi Vantara, you’ll have the opportunity to define our Technical Alliances strategy and turn technology partnerships into differentiated solutions that customers value.
The role
Working at the intersection of business and technology, you’ll identify where we should build, integrate, co-innovate or partner to strengthen our portfolio. This is not a quota-carrying channel sales role or simply an exercise in managing existing relationships. It’s an opportunity to build a repeatable model for creating strategic partnerships, shaping joint propositions and connecting technical innovation with go-to-market execution.
Your remit will span virtualisation and cloud-native platforms, data protection and resilience, data governance and cybersecurity, AI infrastructure and software ecosystems, and hybrid and sovereign cloud.
What you’ll do
- Define the business and technical rationale for strategic alliances, prioritising partnerships that fill portfolio gaps and create mutual customer and commercial value.
- Assess the existing alliance portfolio in your first 30–60 days, recommend two to three new strategic opportunities and begin developing the strongest prospects.
- Personally open doors with senior technology leaders, build executive relationships and originate partnerships—not simply identify opportunities and hand them off.
- Engage early in partner roadmaps and work across Product Management, Engineering, Solutions, GTM and Marketing to deliver integrations, interoperability, certifications, validated designs, reference architectures and joint solutions.
- Lead a lean, experienced team; establish the capabilities, development priorities and hiring plan needed to deliver the future strategy.
- Create a clear operating rhythm and ownership across technical and commercial teams, holding alliances accountable for differentiation, time to market, customer adoption and growth.
What you’ll bring
You’re a commercially minded technology leader who has built partnerships and joint propositions, not just managed a partner portfolio. You combine a strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, data, cloud, AI and adjacent software ecosystems with product judgement and business-model experience.
You can engage credibly with architects, engineers and senior executives, translate technical possibilities into customer value, and influence across organisational boundaries. You bring relevant technology and alliance experience, resourcefulness and persistence, alongside the ability to set a strategic direction and personally make things happen. Experience building or transforming a function and developing an experienced team will be important.
Why this role?
You’ll combine the reach of Hitachi Vantara’s technology portfolio with the entrepreneurial challenge of creating something new. Working with leading technology companies, emerging innovators and open-source communities, you’ll help make our portfolio more complete, differentiated and valuable to customers. If you want to do more than maintain relationships—and instead build the partnerships, propositions and organisation that drive what comes next—we’d like to hear from you.
California base salary range: $275,000-$350,000 per year.
The actual salary offered will depend on factors including experience, skills, qualifications and location. This position is also eligible for partner incentive plan and company benefits.
