About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Auditor to lead business process audits and SOX control testing across corporate functions and businesses in multiple regions. You'll own audits from planning through reporting and apply sound judgment to assess risk and evaluate controls. You'll also give business leaders practical recommendations that strengthen internal controls and ethical business practices. Along the way, you'll coach less-experienced auditors and help move our audit practice forward with data analytics, automation and emerging technologies.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Audit Leadership: Lead and carry out business process audits and SOX control testing. Assess business systems and processes with a focus on internal controls and business ethics across functions and regions.
- End-to-End Audit Lifecycle: Own every phase of the audit:
- Planning and scoping
- Leading opening, status and closing meetings
- Running audit programs, interviews and testing
- Documenting findings and drafting audit reports
- Control and Compliance Evaluation: Assess how well internal controls are designed and how effectively they operate. Check compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, and make sure testing is designed and carried out to address identified risks.
- Professional Judgment: Decide when to expand scope or testing based on risks, trends, exceptions or emerging issues. Make sure workpapers are complete, accurate and strong enough to support the conclusions reached.
- Deficiency Assessment: Evaluate irregularities, exceptions and control deficiencies, and raise significant matters with audit management and business stakeholders. Assess their risk and potential effect on audit conclusions, SOX 404 deficiency classifications and the overall audit opinion.
- Actionable Recommendations: Develop clear, practical recommendations that address risks and root causes while taking business objectives and operational impact into account.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders and communicate audit observations clearly to all levels of management.
- Coaching and Quality Review: Guide and coach auditors during fieldwork. Review their workpapers and give feedback so documentation and execution stay consistent and high quality.
- Innovation: Find ways to make audits more effective and efficient through data analytics, automation and emerging technologies.
Your Key Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in internal audit, external audit, accounting, finance, risk or a related field
- Strong understanding of internal control concepts, risk assessment and audit methodologies, with a proven ability to apply them when planning, performing and reporting on audits
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to evaluate complex information, spot trends and exceptions, find root causes and turn findings into actionable recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including conducting interviews, leading audit discussions and presenting observations to management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, use sound professional judgment and work independently with limited supervision
- A track record of working well on a team and coaching less-experienced team members
- Ability to work effectively across businesses, functions and geographies in a dynamic environment
Preferred
- CPA, CIA or another relevant professional certification
- Internal and/or external audit experience, including running audit procedures and assessing internal controls on your own
- Experience evaluating control deficiencies and supporting SOX 404 assessments
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Power BI and/or other data analytics and automation tools, and an interest in using technology to make audits more efficient and insightful
