SUMMARY OVERVIEW

The Scanner is responsible for the efficient and accurate scanning of passenger tickets and boarding passes at various checkpoints within the airport. This role involves electronic scanning devices to validate and verify passenger travel documents, ensuring all information is correctly logged and processed. You must also assist passengers with any queries related to their travel documents and provide guidance on airport procedures and gate locations. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the flow of passenger traffic, ensuring a smooth and timely boarding process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate scanning equipment to screen baggage and cargo for security purposes 

• Interpret and analyze images produced by scanning equipment 

• Identify prohibited items and potential security threats in baggage and cargo 

• Maintain a log of scanned items and any notable findings for record-keeping 

• Report any suspicious items or activities to security personnel immediately 

• Follow strict safety and security protocols while operating scanning machinery 

• Assist in manual inspections and searches of baggage when required 

• Provide assistance and guidance to passengers during the scanning process 

• Perform routine maintenance checks and troubleshooting on scanning equipment 

• Stay updated on current regulations and guidelines regarding airport security scanning 

• Collaborate with other security team members to ensure efficient and effective screening 

• Participate in ongoing training and certification programs related to security scanning 

• Ensure the privacy and confidentiality of passengers during the scanning process 

• Manage the flow of baggage and cargo through the scanning area efficiently 

• Provide feedback to management on equipment performance and process improvements 

• Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards

• Perform any additional duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

• 18 years of age or older

• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.

• Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
