Salvagnini S4/P4 Operator – Sheet Metal Fabrication

Description

• Set up, operate, and monitor the Salvagnini S4 punch/shear and P4 panel bender according to production schedules and work orders.

• Load and manage sheet stock, tooling, and programs, and verify the correct material type, gauge, and program before each run.

• Read blueprints and work orders to confirm part dimensions, hole locations, bend angles, and tolerances.

• Do first-article and in-process inspections using calipers, protractors, tape measures, and other measuring tools.

• Make program offsets and minor adjustments to keep parts in tolerance, and work with programming and engineering on recurring issues.

• Help with line startup, including equipment commissioning, process setup, and building standard work procedures.

• Do routine preventive maintenance and keep the cell clean and organized.

• Troubleshoot alarms, jams, and stoppages, and report mechanical or electrical problems promptly.

• Keep accurate production records, scrap counts, and job documentation.

• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.

• 2+ years of experience operating CNC sheet metal equipment (punch, shear, press brake, or panel bender).

• Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering drawings.

• Strong measuring skills and a sharp eye for detail and quality.

• Basic shop math, including fractions, decimals, and angles.

• Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to troubleshoot.

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

• Reliable attendance and the ability to work independently.

Preferred

• Direct experience on Salvagnini S4, P4, or similar automated systems (S1, P1, FMS lines).

• Familiarity with Salvagnini OPS or STREAMLINE software, or with programming/offline editing.

• Experience with new equipment installation, startup, or line commissioning.

• Experience fabricating enclosures, racks, or other data center or electrical components.

• Experience with forklifts or overhead cranes (certification a plus).

• Knowledge of sheet metal materials such as CRS, galvanized, stainless, and aluminum.
