About the role
Overview
We're seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Production Manager to lead our incredible team. Your mission? To set clear expectations, empower each team member with the tools and capabilities they need, and hold them accountable for the daily actions required to successfully complete and close projects. You'll be the driving force behind our team's achievement of goals, ensuring every project is executed with precision, efficiency, and a focus on customer satisfaction. If you're a natural leader who loves fostering growth and delivering outstanding results in a fast-paced environment, this is your opportunity to shine!
Your Impact: Key Responsibilities
- Production Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor your production team, fostering strong relationships and driving performance. You'll ensure each team member is equipped and capable of executing their role's expectations, holding them accountable for daily actions that lead to successful project completion and closure.
- Production Department Financials: Drive consolidated revenue and gross profit percentage goals for the production team. This involves an intimate awareness of current Work In Progress (WIP) and forecasted job costs, leveraging individual team member strengths, optimizing Trade Partner and vendor resources, and strategically utilizing intra-company resources. You'll ensure your team knows their specific daily/weekly job cost spending goal and has a clear plan (via scheduled work orders) to hit it.
- Strategic Planning: Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual planning sessions with the General Manager. This includes setting ambitious goals for total revenue per Project Manager (PM), strategizing for PM recruiting, making monthly/quarterly adjustments to PM Scoreboards (goals), and defining monthly file completion targets.
- Resource Management: Oversee the effective management of all resources, including Trade Partners, vendors, and internal staffing or support. This includes:
- Trade Partner Resource Management: Actively recruit, onboard, and conduct routine quality control for new Trade Partners as needed to drive production goals, either personally or through accountability with the production team. Ensure effective utilization of all active vendors.
- Issue Resolution: Set and maintain clear expectations for your team to uphold communication standards and effectively manage customer expectations. You'll ensure consistent documentation of any and all changes to the scope of work and material selections, proactively avoiding most issue resolutions. When issues do arise, you'll approach them with a joyful and intentional sense of urgency, meeting the customer, and meticulously documenting the resolution internally (PSA) and externally (contract revisions) when required.
- Project Assignment & Oversight: Assign Project Managers (PMs) for jobs at turnover. You'll conduct weekly reviews of gross profit percentage and revenue goals with each PM, forecast job file completions monthly, and maintain regular communication with PMs and team coordinators for job file updates.
- Emergency Response Management (for relevant locations): For locations handling Emergency Services, you'll work with the General Manager and MIT manager on ES response plans and call schedules. This includes managing/delegating duties and roles related to ES calls and CAT events, as well as writing and submitting estimates/invoices for ES files.
