Job Summary:
As an PACU Registered Nurse, you will care for patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Check blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, and temperature.
- Check the patient's level of consciousness and orientation.
- Administer medications to treat pain and nausea.
- Look for signs of bleeding, low blood pressure, or arrhythmias.
- Dress wounds and assess drains.
- Teach patients and their families about post-operative care.
- Update surgeons and anesthesiologists on the patient's condition.
- Transfer patients to the next destination, usually within a few hours
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- PALS preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience required.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
