The Greater Manchester Region has approximately 2,500 employees. It includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed community hospital, Rockville General, a campus of Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 102-bed facility, a large multispecialty provider group and visiting nurse services. The Greater Manchester Region serves a region of 300,000 people in 19 towns.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Outpatient Registered Dietitian (RDN) provides evidence-based Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to individuals across the lifespan in an outpatient setting. Works with patients managing chronic or acute conditions such as cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disorders, oncology, and weight management. Promotes health and healing by guiding patients in making sustainable dietary and lifestyle changes. Plans and adapts informational/educational materials, menus, etc. for specific patient groups using HER and other virtual platforms. Participates in the orientation and training of new employees and dietetic students.

This position requires strong communication, counseling and motivational interviewing skills, an understanding of diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, and the ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary care model.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

· Registered Dietitian (RDN) credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

· Eligible for or received license in Connecticut from DPH.

· Must obtain the mandatory number of continued educational units (CEU’s) needed to maintain currency.

EXPERIENCE:

· Minimum of one (1) year of hospital or clinical Registered Dietitian experience preferred.
