Description
Position Summary
The Referral Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and processing patient referrals to specialists, diagnostic services, and other healthcare providers. This position supports timely access to care by obtaining required information, communicating with patients and referral destinations, tracking referral status, maintaining accurate electronic health record documentation, and assisting with compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous medical office, referral coordination, or healthcare administrative experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records and insurance authorization processes preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance referral requirements preferred.
