JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the coating production processes to ensure that manufacturing process is running smooth and production goals are met. The coating production supervisor provides directional oversight for coating team members.

Rotating 12 Hour Shifts (2/2/3 Schedule)

JOB DUTIES:
• Develop and maintain a team of motivated, productive, and positive employees by selecting, training, coaching, counseling, and taking appropriate corrective action to meet production goals. Identify and correct training deficiencies.
• Identify issues within the production processes. Work with production manager to define and resolve problems as well as continuous improvement recommendations. Identifies and suggest improvements and deficiencies through the appropriate maintenance channels.
• Be a proponent for all safety regulations and practice good safety standards. Coating production supervisors are responsible for maintaining a safe working environment.
• Coating production supervisors are responsible for the productivity of their shift by developing, monitoring, and maximizing team members abilities and equipment capacity through effective pre-shift planning, cross shift coordination, interdepartmental coordination as well as relaying equipment conditions thru the appropriate maintenance channels.
• Accurately & factually complete the end of shift report – able to write accurate reports and compile data for easy understanding. The coating production supervisor informs the production manager by maintaining an open and honest dialog while always maintaining integrity.
• Responsible for staff scheduling to include work assignments, training, vacations, breaks and overtime assignments.
• Liaison with maintenance and quality technicians to ensure little or no down time on production equipment.
• Monitor and advocate quality control
• Conduct informative pre-shift meetings
• Establish team member goals and conduct performance reviews
• Communicate and coordinate with other supervisors and managers
• Monitor timecards, corrective action, and annual focal reviews. Understand the basics of compensation and skill levels criteria.
• Provide supervision and guidance during maintenance clean outs

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Cover any other department as needed for supervisory duties

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Has an in depth understanding of production flow and processes
• Ability to read and comprehend oral and written instructions and prepare and present clear and comprehensive written reports.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively in high stress situations.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one situations to team members and production manager.
• Ability to use computer aided equipment in a variety of situations. Must have the ability to efficiently use Microsoft Office.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to motivate team members to successfully accomplish the goals and objectives of Cardinal Galt CG.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with other employees.
• Ability to research and develop programs, processes, and tools for continuous improvement
• Ability to assign, train, supervise and evaluate team members work
• Ability to analyze situations and adapt quick, effective, and reasonable courses of action with due regard to the mission of the Cardinal Galt CG and the circumstances of the situation.
