About the role
About the Role:
As a Product Engineer, you’ll turn product ideas into solutions that are technically sound, supportable, and ready to launch. You’ll shape requirements, evaluate solution options and engineering impacts, and guide testing and technical deliverables from concept through realization.
Working across Product Management, architecture, IT, engineering, NOC, field operations, care, and service delivery, you’ll connect teams and anticipate what it takes to build, integrate, and support each product successfully. This is an opportunity to influence how products come to life and make a meaningful impact across Uniti.
**This position can be filled remotely anywhere within the company footprint.
What You’ll Do:
Translate business and product requirements into technical requirements, technical solution definitions, and engineering deliverables
Develop and maintain technical realization artifacts such as Technical Requirements Documents, Product Realization Plans, Service Architecture Documents, Engineering Impact Assessments, and launch readiness materials
Evaluate technical alternatives, vendor/platform options, network impacts, integration requirements, and implementation constraints
Engage internal and external engineering experts to define the solution needed to deliver new products and enhancements
Lead or coordinate POCs, friendly user trials, UAT support, and technical validation activities
Identify impacts to transport, IP, NOC, field ops, OSS/BSS, care, provisioning, and billing, and drive closure of gaps before launch
Support cross-functional working sessions to align engineering, operational, and technical launch requirements
Surface risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs early and provide recommendations to leadership
Support post-launch analysis, KPI definition, issue triage, and continuous improvement
Stay current on technology trends and advise the business on technical applicability and readiness of emerging solutions
Preferred Skills
Experience in broadband, voice, managed services, SD-WAN, security, Wi-Fi/CPE, or wholesale product environments
Experience with POCs, FOAs/FUTs, UAT, lab validation, or launch-readiness activities
Familiarity with OSS/BSS, provisioning, billing, service delivery, and field support implications of product launches
Experience in creating engineering impact assessments, operational readiness plans, or service introduction documentation
5+ years of experience in product engineering, product development, service engineering, technical program delivery, network engineering, or systems integration
Experience with technical evaluation, testing, certification, or launch of telecom/technology products
Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and structured implementation plans
Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently across multiple teams without direct authority
Minimum Requirements:
College degree and 5-7 years professional level experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience; or 9+ years professional level related experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.
