Pharmacy Technician

• Location: Hoffman Estates, IL
• Facility: Ascension Saint Alexius
• Department: Pharmacy
• Schedule: Rotating shift l PRN

• Perform specialized pharmacy technician duties, including hazardous drug compounding, medication history reconciliation, nuclear pharmacy tasks, and Patient Assistance Program management.
• Maintain and refill automated dispensing systems, manage inventory, prepare bulk medication repackaging, and handle incoming supplies.
• Serve as a key liaison between pharmacy staff, patients, external providers, and retail partners to streamline communication and care coordination.
• Facilitate patient medication access by navigating benefit investigations, prior authorizations, financial assistance, and education materials.

• Required Credential(s):
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
• Education:
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
