About the role
The PD Construction Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the planning, procurement, execution, financial control, and closeout of construction and infrastructure projects supporting Product Development facilities.
This position manages multidisciplinary projects involving architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, utilities, and specialized laboratory or testing infrastructure. The coordinator works closely with Product Development customers, Ford Land, Facilities, Purchasing, Finance, Safety, Security, Environmental, IT, design teams, and external suppliers to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within approved budgets, and in accordance with the defined scope and applicable company standards.
Project Planning and Scope Development
Partner with Product Development customers and relevant stakeholders to understand operational requirements and translate them into clearly defined project scopes.
Conduct site walkthroughs to assess existing conditions, constraints, interfaces, and infrastructure requirements.
Obtain and review facility information, including dimensions, drawings, engineering data, maintenance information, project budgets, and existing conditions.
Develop User Requirements, Statements of Work, preliminary schedules, budget estimates, and supporting business-case information.
Review architectural, engineering, and construction drawings to confirm alignment with user requirements, company standards, constructability, safety, functionality, and project objectives.
Coordinate value-engineering activities to identify cost-effective solutions without compromising safety, quality, or required functionality.
