Payroll Manager

Description

Trout CPA is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll services team within Client Accounting Services. This position will oversee multi-client and multi-state payroll processing, strengthen compliance, develop team members, and serve as a trusted payroll advisor to clients across a variety of industries.

What You’ll Do

• Lead accurate, timely payroll processing for multiple clients
• Oversee multi-state payroll, tax filings, wage and hour compliance, audits, and tax notices
• Advise clients on payroll policies, regulations, systems, and customized solutions
• Manage payroll software implementations and integrations with HRIS and timekeeping systems
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, accuracy, and efficiency
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of payroll professionals
• Create procedures, best practices, and training for payroll systems and compliance updates

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
• 10 or more years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-client or CPA firm environment
• Leadership or management experience strongly preferred
• Certified Payroll Professional, CPP, certification required
• Expert knowledge of payroll platforms such as Gusto, ADP, Paylocity, and Evolution by Inova
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with payroll tax reporting, HRIS, and timekeeping integrations
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and client service skills
