About the role
Description
Responsible for shaping molds or mold sections using such machines as automatic molding machine, air-set sand mixer, rota-lift and jolt-squeeze molding machines.

- Select and assemble appropriate flask equipment and patterns
- Position patterns in flasks, fill flasks with sand, ramming the sand around the pattern with tools, hands and use of molding machines
- Prepare molds for drawing of patterns and repair damage to mold impressions in sand as necessary
- Select and set in position appropriate cores and/or chills; vents molds as necessary
- Assemble cope and drag sections of mold and place mold on pouring conveyor
- Report production quantities and times for each work order
- Report worn pattern equipment to supervisors
- Perform any and all other job-related tasks as assigned
