What You’ll Do
The Medical Assistant supports daily clinical operations by building strong working relationships with providers, psychiatric residents, clinical staff, and patients. This role serves as an important connection between providers and the clinical support team, helping ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, timely communication, and a positive clinical experience. Assist with clinical procedures and treatments within the scope of training, competency, and applicable regulations.
- Provider and Resident Support: Serve as a dependable clinical support partner to providers and psychiatric residents by understanding individual workflow preferences, preparing necessary materials, assisting with patient encounters, and helping resolve routine operational challenges. Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and discretion when supporting clinical decision-making and patient care.
- Quality Assurance and Patient Safety: Follow established clinical protocols, infection control standards, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. Identify and communicate potential concerns, incomplete documentation, or workflow issues promptly to the appropriate clinical leadership.
- Team Collaboration and Accountability: Work collaboratively with front desk, back office, providers, residents, and administrative teams to maintain consistent communication, efficient patient transitions, and a positive working environment. Demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and contribute to continuous operational improvement.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional clinical and administrative responsibilities as assigned to support organizational priorities, patient care, and the evolving needs of the clinical team.
