Join Wilhelmsen Ship Management (WSM) as Marine Personnel Recruitment Specialist
Location: Norway (Lysaker) | Type: Full-time, Hybrid
Wilhelmsen Ship Management (Norway) AS is looking for a Marine Personnel Recruitment Specialist to join our Marine HR team in Lysaker.
Behind every well-operated vessel is a skilled and dependable crew. In this role, you will help us find and attract the seafarers we need, taking ownership of recruitment activities from sourcing and screening through to interviews, assessments and candidate selection.
This is more than a traditional recruitment role. You will work closely with Marine HR and key stakeholders to build strong talent pipelines, strengthen our employer brand within the maritime community, and continuously improve how we attract and recruit marine personnel.
If you enjoy recruitment, building relationships and finding the right people for the right opportunities, while working in an international maritime environment, this could be a great next step for you.
What you will work on
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified seafarers for current and future opportunities
- Create engaging job advertisements and proactively source candidates through relevant digital channels
- Screen applications, conduct interviews and identify qualified candidates
- Guide and support hiring stakeholders throughout the recruitment and selection process
- Act as a key link between candidates and Marine HR
- Coordinate psychometric assessments and support the interpretation of results
- Conduct reference checks and support compliance checks related to candidate qualifications and training requirements
- Maintain accurate candidate and recruitment information
- Monitor recruitment metrics, trends and KPIs and identify opportunities to improve our recruitment processes
- Contribute to the development of recruitment tools, processes and ways of working
- Support employer branding and talent attraction activities through events, professional networks and digital channels
- Contribute to Marine HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
What we are looking for
You are a proactive recruiter who enjoys connecting with people and building trusted relationships with candidates and stakeholders. You are comfortable managing several recruitment activities at the same time, while maintaining structure, accuracy and a positive candidate experience. We would also like you to have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or another relevant field
- 2–4 years of experience within recruitment, talent acquisition or a similar role
- Experience managing different stages of the recruitment and selection process
- Strong interviewing, assessment and candidate-evaluation skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong written English and the ability to create engaging candidate-facing content
- Experience with psychometric or personality assessment tools
- Confidence in using recruitment systems and digital sourcing tools
- A structured, proactive and service-minded approach
- Experience from, or a good understanding of, the maritime industry would be an advantage
What we offer
At Wilhelmsen, you will join an international maritime environment where you can develop your recruitment expertise while working closely with colleagues across Marine HR and our wider organisation. We offer:
- Flexible working arrangements
- Competitive compensation, pension and insurance arrangements
- Opportunities for professional and career development
- A collaborative and international working environment
- Company cabins
- Mobile phone
- Generous annual leave
