About the role
Is your dream job being on the water feeling the ocean spray on your face? The Port Aransas Ferry Operation runs a fleet of 8 ferries! Three are 20-car ferries and five are 28-car ferries. The operation crosses the Corpus Christi Ship Channel between Aransas Pass Harbor Island to Port Aransas, on Mustang Island. The quarter-mile route typically takes less than ten minutes. We have flexible shifts that help support the 24-7, 365 days a year operation. The Port Aransas Ferry Operation is a critical part of the evacuation route for the City of Port Aransas during a weather event. We are looking for individuals that have no experience and take initiative with a positive attitude to become part of our TxDOT family in the maritime industry.
