About the role
Overview
The Local Marketing Manager is the primary, proactive, data-driven Marketing advisor for an assigned portfolio of approximately 50 general dentistry practices allied with Dental Care Alliance (DCA). This role provides knowledgeable marketing leadership to Practice Managers, Field Operations Leaders, and Regional Clinical Leaders, translating performance data, local market conditions, and practice needs into practical recommendations. The position connects field partners with centralized Marketing teams and ensures enterprise and local initiatives are relevant, well executed, and measured against business outcomes. Success requires earning trust through marketing expertise, sound business judgment, constructive challenge, clear communication, and reliable follow-through. Rather than serving as a request taker, the Local Marketing Manager helps practices determine which marketing actions are most likely to drive results and why. The role manages assigned local marketing budgets and coordinates approved sponsorships, events, community partnerships, and other local programs while keeping field leaders informed of priorities, progress, and performance
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary Marketing business partner and informed advisor to assigned practices, Practice Managers, Field Operations Leaders, and Regional Clinical Leaders; understand local priorities and bring an independent marketing perspective to growth discussions. 2. Establish a consistent communication cadence that explains Marketing plans, campaign activity, results, available resources, and next steps in plain language; proactively close the loop on questions and commitments. 3. Listen carefully to field feedback and requests, assess them against performance evidence and business priorities, and constructively challenge proposed tactics when another approach is more likely to achieve the desired result; communicate recommendations and tradeoffs respectfully. 4. Earn credibility through marketing knowledge, sound recommendations, transparent decisions, dependable execution, and visible follow-through; explain not only what Marketing is doing but why it matters to the practice. 5. Support field adoption of campaigns and initiatives developed by central Marketing teams, providing local context, execution instructions, training materials, and follow-up as needed. 6. Plan, coordinate, and manage approved local marketing activities for assigned allied general practices, including community events, sponsorships, local partnerships, and outreach opportunities, with practice-specific local activation support. 7. Assess proposed events, sponsorships, partnerships, and other local investments using audience fit, competitive conditions, practice capacity, costs, and expected business contribution; recommend whether to proceed, modify, or decline before seeking Director approval.

Support marketing readiness for new practices, affiliations, provider introductions, or significant local changes when assigned by the Director. 11. Proactively analyze practice-level marketing performance, local demand, competitive conditions, patient acquisition trends, and relevant operational constraints. Distinguish marketing activities and leads from booked appointments, completed visits, new patients, and production or revenue when reliable data is available. Use practice-level findings to inform local recommendations and business reviews. 12. Lead recurring, insight-driven marketing business reviews with field partners. Present clear findings, explain drivers of performance, recommend prioritized actions, and document decisions and measurable next steps rather than simply reviewing reports or collecting requests. 13. Diagnose potential causes of growth gaps, including local demand, lead handling, scheduling, provider capacity, reputation, and operational execution; distinguish Marketing-controlled actions from issues requiring Operations or Clinical Leadership, and coordinate the appropriate response. 14. Develop evidence-based recommendations for practice-level priorities, sponsorships, events, and budget allocation; elevate proposed marketing-mix changes to the Director, GP Marketing, who partners with the VP, Patient Acquisition on centralized channel decisions. 15. Document action plans, owners, deadlines, and outcomes so field partners can see visible progress and follow-through. 16. Manage and track assigned local marketing budgets established by the CMO, including forecasts, commitments, invoices, actual spending, and supporting documentation; maintain visibility to budget versus actual. 17. Execute approved expenditures and manage vendor activities within delegated authority and established purchasing controls; obtain Director approval for discretionary spending decisions and any proposed changes to the marketing mix. 18. Follow Marketing’s operating procedures for requests, prioritization, campaign launches, sponsorship approvals, vendor coordination, creative briefs, compliance reviews, and reporting; recommend process improvements based on field experience. 19. Maintain accurate practice information, activity records, event results, issue logs, and local marketing plans in designated systems to support continuity, accountability, and transparency. 20. Work closely with Patient Acquisition, Patient Engagement/Retention, Creative, Analytics, Marketing Operations, Operations, and practice leadership to coordinate timing, resources, field communications, and execution. 21.
