• Must arrive 15 minutes before the duty starts to ensure all medical and rescue equipment is in proper working condition. Personal equipment is prepared and that are rescue ready at all times.

• It only takes seconds for a drowning or medical emergency to occur thus; it is extremely important to be proactive and attentive while on duty. At no point that a lifeguard is permitted to take their eyes off the area unless directed otherwise by a supervisor.

• Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules and regulations.

• Participate in regular in-service training sessions and maintain fitness level (strength and endurance).

• Maintain the pool facility in its best possible condition and report to the head any maintenance issues.

• Ensure the swimming pool area is safe and clean. Inspect facilities daily to ensure pool and deck areas that safety standards are maintained.

• Perform guarding duties or other responsibilities as requested by the supervisor or management when required.
