The Opportunity
Build the Future with Us
A building’s story does not end at handover—and neither should the value of its data. As the Lifecycle Asset Data Lead - Buildings, you will shape WSP’s digital twin readiness and lifecycle data strategy for Property & Buildings, connecting the intelligence behind great design with the demands of long-term operational performance.
Reporting to the Digital Solutions Manager – Buildings, you will work with project delivery teams across Canada to build capabilities to ensure that the asset information WSP delivers to clients is structured, complete, accurate, controlled and usable for operations, maintenance and lifecycle decision-making. Digital twins, BIM and open data standards are the tools; operational, decision-ready asset information is the outcome.
This is a practitioner-led role. Receiving “AHU-01, Manufacturer X, Model Y” is not enough. You will be the person coaching delivery teams to meet client requirements, ensuring the asset also carries its location, system and parent/child relationships, classification, serial number, commissioning date, warranty, criticality, maintenance strategy, documents, replacement value, expected life and condition, and whether those fields are structured consistently enough to support the client’s CMMS/EAM, lifecycle planning and reporting.
Bring a new dimension to major building programs: help turn project information into the intelligence that powers living, evolving assets.
Your Impact
Shape WSP’s digital twin readiness and lifecycle data roadmap for Property & Buildings, bridging design intelligence and operational needs
Build capability across WSP through training, upskilling and mentorship, embedding lifecycle thinking into everyday project delivery
Act as an advisor to building owners, facility managers and operations teams on asset data strategy; bridging knowledge of engineering, asset management and facility operations; and translating implications into value, leaner operations and reduced risk
Define asset information requirements, handover specifications and acceptance criteria for client projects, aligned to ISO 19650 and to each client’s asset management objectives under ISO 55001
Develop asset hierarchies, functional location structures, classification mappings and data dictionaries aligned to the client’s CMMS/EAM or IWMS
Advise delivery teams on the transformation of design-phase models into structured, asset-rich data environments ready for operational systems through data cleansing, migration, reconciliation and QA/QC workstreams
Review and validate contractor and BIM deliverables (COBie, IFC, model data and documents) against client project requirements, and reject data that does not meet them
Establish integration pathways between BIM data and operational platforms (IWMS, CMMS/EAM, BMS/BAS and IoT) through APIs, ETL processes and data mapping
