About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Healthcare Implementation & Project Lead based in the United States.
The Healthcare Implementation & Project Lead will own the end-to-end implementation journey, guiding client engagements from contract execution through go-live and transition to ongoing operations. This client-facing role combines strategic relationship management with structured project delivery, ensuring physician leaders, practice executives, internal teams, and external partners remain aligned throughout each initiative. You will lead complex, cross-functional projects, manage competing priorities, anticipate risks, and maintain stakeholder confidence through clear communication and decisive follow-through. Working closely with implementation leadership, you will also contribute to the development of project management standards, tools, and processes that improve consistency and scalability. This is a remote, home-office-based opportunity with occasional travel to Atlanta or Nashville offices and client locations for key milestones and relationship-building activities.
Accountabilities:
-
Lead healthcare client implementations from contract execution through go-live and transition to operations, taking ownership of both delivery outcomes and the client experience.
-
Build trusted relationships with physician leaders, practice executives, operational stakeholders, internal teams, and external partners.
-
Establish implementation expectations, responsibilities, decision points, timelines, and communication routines.
-
Facilitate project kickoffs, status meetings, steering committees, readiness reviews, and other important stakeholder discussions.
-
Translate complex operational, technical, contractual, and financial information into clear, audience-appropriate communications.
-
Influence stakeholders and secure commitments across teams without relying on direct reporting authority.
-
Develop and maintain project plans, work breakdown structures, budgets, milestones, resource requirements, dependencies, and deliverables.
-
Manage multiple concurrent implementations and strategic initiatives while maintaining visibility, accountability, and consistent follow-through.
-
Identify risks, dependencies, and delivery barriers early; drive mitigation and escalate significant issues with relevant facts and recommended solutions.
-
Prepare executive-ready dashboards, status reports, decision requests, and project-health updates.
-
Maintain accurate project documentation, meeting notes, decisions, trackers, and client communication records in Salesforce and other designated systems.
-
Support the transition from implementation to operations through clear documentation, ownership, expectations, and handoffs.
-
Contribute to the development of PMO standards, governance practices, implementation playbooks, templates, tools, and standard operating procedures.
-
Lead continuous-improvement initiatives that strengthen client experience, onboarding efficiency, implementation quality, and delivery scalability.
-
Apply lessons learned and stakeholder feedback to improve future implementations and promote practical, consistent project-management practices.
-
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, project management, information systems, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
-
At least 3–5 years of experience in project management, implementation management, client delivery, consulting, or operations leadership.
-
Demonstrated experience leading client-facing implementations or complex cross-functional initiatives.
-
Experience building relationships with physicians, practice executives, senior leaders, clients, or other high-accountability stakeholders strongly preferred.
-
Proven ability to influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and drive commitments across teams without direct authority.
-
Experience managing several concurrent projects in changing or ambiguous environments.
-
Healthcare, healthcare technology, consulting, or professional services experience preferred.
-
Strong client leadership, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to establish credibility and maintain trust.
-
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to engage confidently with physician and executive audiences.
-
Confidence handling difficult conversations involving delays, missed commitments, resistance, changing expectations, and performance concerns.
-
Strong project-planning, execution, risk-management, decision-making, and change-leadership capabilities.
-
Sound judgment, adaptability, organization, attention to detail, accountability, and consistent follow-through.
-
Proficiency with project-management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Asana, Monday.com, or similar platforms.
-
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook; Salesforce or comparable CRM experience preferred.
-
Ability to work remotely during standard business hours, with some flexibility around go-lives and monthly or quarterly business cycles.
-
Willingness to travel occasionally to Atlanta or Nashville offices and client sites.
-
Ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
-
Remote work arrangement based in a home office.
-
Opportunity to lead high-impact healthcare implementations and strategic operational initiatives.
-
Exposure to physician leaders, practice executives, and cross-functional business teams.
-
Opportunity to help shape and strengthen project management standards, tools, and processes.
-
Potential career progression into Senior Implementation Manager, Program Manager, PMO Manager, Director of Implementations, Director of Strategic Initiatives, or broader client delivery and operations leadership roles.
