Ice Maintenance Technician | Part Time | Rio Rancho Events Center

The Ice Maintenance Technician will perform general labor duties as assigned. Duties include but are not limited to building conversions for various events and familiarity with all aspects of facility operations and maintenance in addition to ice making, ice maintenance, and repair.

This role pays an hourly rate of $17.00 - $21.00.

Rio Rancho Events Center is a 7,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, a city located near Albuquerque. The arena is located near the intersection of Unser Boulevard and Paseo del Volcan. It is part of a larger "City Center" project, which also includes a new city hall. The multipurpose facility can host concert settings in various capacities, including hockey, basketball, indoor football, family shows, rodeos, trade shows, and flexible setups to accommodate any event.

• Responsible for occasional maintenance and repair of rink equipment to include, but not limited to: Zamboni, dasher system, subfloor, tempered glass, acrylic glass, safety netting, Jet Ice systems, edgers, goal nets, etc.
• Work with the facilities department to provide optimal ice conditions for all ice events.
• Help oversee aspects of ice installation and removal.
• Assist the operations department to expedite event conversions.
• Responsible for maintaining a quality Ice Sheet during events in a punctual manner.
• Responsible for opening and closing the Rink on time and according to schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Previous experience working in ice rink maintenance, conversions, or a hockey facility is preferred.
• Ability to operate a Zamboni Ice Resurfacing machine is preferred.
• Strong understanding of OSHA rules and regulations.
• Must be comfortable working in very cold or very hot conditions for long periods of time.
• Ability to adhere to building policies and event requirements.
• Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions as well.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
• Must be able to work long irregular hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
