About the role
About David AI
David AI is the first audio data research company. We bring an R&D approach to data–developing datasets with the same rigor AI labs bring to models. Our mission is to bring AI into the real world, and we believe audio is the gateway. Speech is versatile, accessible, and human—it fits naturally into everyday life. As audio AI advances and new use cases emerge, high-quality training data is the bottleneck. This is where David AI comes in.
David AI was founded in 2024 by a team of former Scale AI engineers and operators. In less than a year, we’ve brought on most FAANG companies and AI labs as customers. We recently raised a $50M Series B from Meritech, NVIDIA, Jack Altman (Alt Capital), Amplify Partners, First Round Capital and other Tier 1 investors.
Our team is sharp, humble, ambitious, and tight-knit. We’re looking for exceptional people across every function to join us on our mission to push the frontier of audio AI.
About this role
We are hiring a Head of Marketing to build and lead our marketing function. You will own how we position David AI, bring our work to market, and create demand among the teams building audio AI. You will connect our datasets, evaluations, and research into a clear company story, supported by evidence that earns the trust of customers, researchers, and future teammates.
You will work closely with our founders and leadership team across functions to drive tangible results for David AI. This is a hands-on leadership role: you should be as comfortable interviewing a customer or writing a launch announcement as setting strategy, allocating budget for different marketing initiatives, and hiring your team.
In this role, you will
Work directly with Tomer on the company's most important priorities. Turn broad goals and open questions into clear plans, decisions, owners, and next steps.
Own strategic and operating projects that cut across functions or do not yet have a clear owner, from initial problem definition through execution.
Help run the company's operating rhythm. Track the most important priorities, surface issues early, and make sure decisions and commitments turn into action.
Dig into parts of the business that need additional attention. Get to the underlying facts, identify what is working or not working, and build a plan with the team to address it.
Support company planning and help translate company-level goals into priorities across the organization.
Lead analysis on important company decisions. Pull together the right data and context, pressure-test the options, and develop a clear recommendation.
Partner closely with leaders across research, engineering, product, data operations, go-to-market, finance, and people to move cross-functional work forward.
Support CEO-level work including board preparation, fundraising, executive hiring, organizational planning, and other priorities as they arise.
Help Tomer allocate his time against the areas where he can have the most impact, and take ownership of work that does not need to stay with him.
Step into new initiatives or areas that need temporary ownership, build structure around them, and stay close to execution until there is a clear long-term owner.
Your background looks like
8+ years in marketing, communications, or a related storytelling role, including experience leading a team at a growing startup.
Exceptional writing and storytelling, demonstrated through work you personally created and published.
Experience working with technical experts. You can ask questions that get beyond the obvious, understand the substance, and explain it accurately without relying on jargon.
Strong editorial judgment. You know which stories are worth telling, what evidence they need, and which format and channel will help them reach the intended audience.
A track record of building an audience or earning meaningful attention for a company and its work through content, communications, PR, or community.
Experience hiring and developing people, managing creative work, and giving specific, useful feedback that makes the work better.
Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid pace; thrives in a “build while flying” environment.
Low-ego, collaborative, and mission-driven, focused on team and company success.
Bonus points if you have
Experience as a founder, or marketing storytelling role role at a high-growth startup.
Experience in AI, data infrastructure, marketplaces, or another technically complex business.
