Job Description
This role does not own product strategy or product decisions. Instead, it enables and elevates those decisions by delivering high-quality analytics, insight-driven content, and forward-looking observations that guide regional product leaders, investment teams, and commercial stakeholders on:
- Product roadmap prioritization
- Pricing strategy and competitiveness
- Client demand grids and segmentation
- Regional and global go-to-market strategies
The position leads a team of 12 direct reports, across split between Americas & International Product Research & Insights teams. Collectively, this team produces and manages client demand grids, product intelligence and reporting optimization, global macro product strategy, commercial alignment and thematic prioritization, cross-regional product integration, and strategic planning and execution.
Reporting directly to the Global Head of Product Enablement, the position will work in close partnership with regional product heads, investment, distribution, and marketing teams.
Success in this role requires exceptional influence skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to operate within a complex, highly matrixed global environment. The ideal candidate will be both visionary and pragmatic—able to synthesize market insights, shape priorities, and drive alignment across multiple stakeholders without direct authority.
LOCATION
Primary locations include New York (preferred), London, or Atlanta, with flexibility for other hubs such as Houston or Downer’s Grove ( metro area). Proximity to senior leadership and cross-functional teams in either New York or London is strongly preferred to enhance coordination and visibility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Global Product Intelligence & Analytics
- Build and oversee a global product analytics and insights framework that integrates market data, client demand signals, competitive intelligence, pricing analytics, and performance trends.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality analytics that allow regional and global leaders to compare opportunities, risks, and trade-offs across asset classes and geographies.
- Own the development and continuous enhancement of client demand grids, ensuring they are analytically rigorous, forward-looking, and commercially relevant.
Insight Generation & Strategic Content
- Translate complex datasets into clear insights, executive-ready materials, and decision-support content for senior product, investment, and commercial leaders.
- Produce thematic insights on product trends, client behavior, pricing dynamics, and emerging opportunities across public and private markets.
- Develop standardized insight packages that inform:
- Global and regional product roadmap discussions
- Pricing and fee strategy reviews
- Go-to-market planning and regional prioritization
Commercial & Regional Enablement
- Partner with regional product and distribution teams to ensure insights are tailored to local market realities while remaining globally comparable.
- Support regional go-to-market strategies with data-driven analysis on client needs, competitive positioning, and product differentiation.
- Act as a center of excellence for industry theme-related analytics used across institutional, wealth, intermediary, and retirement channels.
Stakeholder Partnership & Influence
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to the Global Product leadership team contributing insight—not direction—to product debates.
- Participate in enterprise-level forums as the voice of data, evidence, and market intelligence.
- Support select client and consultant engagements by providing insight-based perspectives on market trends and product positioning (not product sales).
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 15 years of experience within a global asset management firm (of scale) and/or a top-tier consulting firm serving asset management clients.
- Proven success leading cross-regional (i.e., global) and/or cross-asset initiatives within large, matrixed organizations, preferably with both institutional, retail and retirement distribution exposure.
- Understanding of investment product structures and vehicles, including mutual funds, ETFs, CITs, SMAs, and private market strategies.
- Familiarity with DC retirement markets, model portfolios, and customization trends is highly desirable.
- Experience integrating strategic planning and analytical functions to support commercial decision-making and product lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to balance perspectives across investment, distribution, and operational stakeholders to build consensus and influence outcomes.
- Track record of managing or restructuring teams to improve strategic impact, process efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Undergraduate degree in business, finance, or related discipline required; MBA or master’s degree preferred; CFA designation strongly valued.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Strategic and conceptual thinker with strong commercial acumen and high emotional intelligence.
- Persuasive communicator who can influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across diverse geographies and cultures.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams, fostering inclusion, collaboration, and performance accountability.
- Open-minded and adaptable, able to navigate organizational change with confidence and discretion.
- Highly organized with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of translating data into clear insights and recommendations.
- Professional maturity, integrity, and resilience in managing complex and sometimes ambiguous global initiatives.
- Committed to continuous learning and improvement, with curiosity about emerging trends shaping global asset management.
