About the role
Located in The Gulf At Jered, a PAR Systems Company and leader in engineered solutions for naval and maritime systems, our Field Service team plays a critical role in supporting customers through technical expertise, reliable service, and effective project execution. We are looking for an experienced Field Service Site Lead who brings strong technical capabilities, hands-on leadership, and the ability to coordinate complex field service activities while maintaining exceptional customer relationships.
In this role, you'll serve as Jered's primary on-site Field Service representative in Pascagoula, Mississippi, primarily supporting Huntington Ingalls Industries (Ingalls), with additional coverage throughout Alabama and other Gulf Coast shipyards. You'll provide hands-on technical support, coordinate field activities, and serve as a key connection between customers, Field Service Engineers, Technicians, Engineering, and Field Service Operations leadership. This remote, field-based position combines technical execution, customer coordination, and site leadership to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Jered's quality and technical standards.
Success Criteria:
As a Field Service Site Lead, you'll spend most of your time coordinating on-site field service activities, providing technical guidance, supporting troubleshooting and repairs, and maintaining strong communication between customers and internal teams. You'll participate in customer planning, production, technical, testing coordination, and project status meetings while maintaining visibility of project priorities, technical concerns, material requirements, and schedule risks.
The most successful team members bring strong mechanical and technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to lead field activities without direct personnel-management authority. You'll provide hands-on support during installation, repair, testing, commissioning, and modernization while ensuring work follows approved drawings, procedures, technical requirements, and OEM workmanship standards. You'll also mentor less-experienced personnel, coordinate daily field activities, and support accurate reporting and documentation.
Success in this role means maintaining customer confidence, identifying and escalating technical or quality concerns before they impact project execution, and ensuring field activities remain aligned with customer requirements and company standards. You'll balance customer priorities with technical integrity, promote accountability across the field team, and support consistent communication with Field Service Operations and Engineering. Technical and personnel-management authority will remain with the appropriate Engineering and Field Service management teams.
Qualifications:
Strong hands-on mechanical and technical capabilities with excellent troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated shipyard experience involving technical execution, troubleshooting, coordination, or team leadership
Ability to evaluate workmanship, engineering, customer dependencies, and contractual concerns and determine when escalation is necessary
Experience coordinating field activities and providing technical direction without formal personnel-management authority
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and nontechnical audiences
Ability to professionally represent Jered in customer meetings and maintain productive working relationships
Ability to identify and address unacceptable technical conditions while balancing customer urgency with quality and OEM requirements
Strong initiative, accountability, and ability to work independently without constant management direction
Ability to support local field service operations and travel to additional project locations as needed
Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30%
US Persons
Preferred Qualifications:
Engineering or Engineering Technology degree, or equivalent technical education and/or relevant field experience
8–10 years of progressive experience in shipyard operations, marine engineering, field service, or technical leadership
Experience with marine mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or electromechanical equipment
Experience with marine elevators, deck machinery, shipbuilding, or ship repair
Experience coordinating field personnel, subcontractors, Engineering resources, or customer work activities
Experience communicating with shipyards, government customers, Engineering, Quality, or other technically demanding customers
Experience participating in customer-facing technical, production, testing coordination, and issue-resolution meetings
