Help customers turn robotics challenges into working applications. As a Field Application Engineer with ATI Industrial Automation, a Novanta business, you’ll bring engineering expertise directly to customers—from evaluating an application and demonstrating a solution to troubleshooting its performance after installation.

Your focus will be ATI’s Tool Changer and Material Removal product lines. Working alongside sales colleagues and customer teams, you’ll help identify opportunities, demonstrate what the technology can do, and support its use in robotic and automated manufacturing environments.

This is a remote, field-based position, supporting customers across the United States and Mexico. Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred, with travel of up to 40%.

Put your engineering expertise to work

In this role, you will:

• Guide customers through technical decisions. Provide product and application support throughout the pre-sale and post-sale process.
• Bring technical depth to customer visits. Partner with sales personnel to identify opportunities, evaluate customer needs, and help close sales through engineering expertise and product knowledge.
• Show solutions in action. Develop and deliver robot-based product demonstrations and technical presentations at customer sites, tradeshows, and conferences.
• Explore new applications. Create novel uses for ATI products with robots, then share those applications through videos and application notes.
• Resolve technical challenges. Troubleshoot product and application issues and provide timely, practical solutions.
• Maintain clear support records. Use Salesforce to manage customer cases and support activities.
• Help improve products and processes. Contribute customer insights and engineering ideas to continuous improvement initiatives.

What you’ll bring

• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Three to five years of experience in an engineering role, preferably in the automation industry.
• A strong understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with SolidWorks and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Communication and interpersonal skills that help you work effectively with customers and colleagues.

Compensation and benefits

• The salary range for this position is $100,795 to $125,000 annually based on full-time employment. Compensation offers are determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to location, relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
• Certain positions may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and/or long-term incentive programs. Incentive eligibility and structure may vary depending on the applicable plan and may be discretionary or non-discretionary.
