About the role
Position: Student Electrical Designer
Location: Calgary, AB
Start Date: May 2027. Applicants are encouraged to submit their application in advance, as recruitment will begin in January 2027.
The opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Student Electrical Designer to join our team in Calgary, AB, for a 12 or 16-month term, with flexibility to accommodate the successful candidate’s academic schedule. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated student to gain valuable hands-on experience while working alongside a collaborative team of electrical professionals.
Responsibilities:
Assist Engineers and Designers in preparing technical drawings and schematics using computer-aided design (CAD) software, Revit, and drafting workstations.
Review architectural and structural drawings to support accurate and coordinated design documentation.
Coordinate with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Collaborate with the project team and Project Manager to support project schedules, meet deadlines, and communicate resource requirements or issues.
Attend and contribute to internal office and project-related meetings.
Communicate with contractors and respond to technical inquiries.
Provide technical and administrative support throughout all phases of a project.
Help establish and maintain positive client relationships.
Help ensure the quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of project deliverables.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Qualifications
Currently pursuing post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or REVIT an asset.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Desire to work in a team-based environment.
Good communication skills.
Proven ability to meet deadlines.
