Job Description

About the Role 

We are seeking a Newgen Developer with at least 2 years of hands-on experience to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, configure, and support enterprise solutions built on Newgen platforms including OmniDocs, OmniFlow/iBPS, NewgenONE, and Record Management System (RMS). 

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable workflow and document management solutions for enterprise and public sector clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who combines strong Newgen platform expertise with solid Java development skills and a collaborative mindset.

What will you do: 

• Analyse business, functional, and technical requirements and translate them into solution designs and application components on the Newgen platform 

• Design, develop, configure, and maintain applications using OmniDocs, OmniFlow/iBPS, NewgenONE, and/or RMS 

• Configure and maintain workflows, forms, templates, document classes, business rules, and related components 

• Develop supporting application logic and integrations using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, XML, and SQL 

• Participate in technical design discussions, peer code reviews, proof of concepts (POCs), and solution walkthroughs 

• Perform unit testing and support integration testing, system testing, UAT, and production deployment activities 

• Investigate and resolve defects, reported incidents, and application issues to ensure stable production performance 

• Build and support integrations with third-party and enterprise systems using REST APIs, SOAP web services, and related integration mechanisms 

• Prepare and maintain technical specifications, configuration documents, test artefacts, deployment procedures, and support documentation 

• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, technical leads, testers, infrastructure teams, and client stakeholders to ensure quality delivery 

• Support platform upgrades, migration activities, compatibility testing, and post-upgrade optimization where required 

• Ensure all deliverables comply with coding standards, security requirements, architecture guidelines, and quality processes 

• Provide timely status updates, highlight risks early, and contribute to project reporting and team planning 

 

Qualifications

An ideal candidate would possess: 

Essential Experience 

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Newgen application development, configuration, or support

• Practical experience in one or more of the following Newgen products: 

• OmniDocs 

• OmniFlow/iBPS 

• NewgenONE 

• Record Management System (RMS) 

• Good understanding of document management, workflow automation, business process management, enterprise content management, and case management concepts 

• Hands-on development experience in: 

• Java, J2EE, Spring Boot 

• JavaScript, jQuery 

• HTML5, CSS, XML, AJAX 

• Good knowledge of databases and query development, specially SQL and Oracle (PostgreSQL is an advantage) 

• Experience in system integration using REST APIs and SOAP Web Services with JSON/XML-based interfaces 

• Familiarity with development and collaboration tools such as Eclipse, Git/GitHub, SVN, Jira, Postman, SoapUI 

• Experience across the software development lifecycle, including design, build, test, deployment, maintenance, and support 

• Good working knowledge of application security, error handling, and basic performance tuning 

Good-to-Have Experience 

• Experience with application server and middleware configuration, including Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss 

• Knowledge of server deployment, environment setup, configuration troubleshooting, and log analysis 

• Experience with Linux/Unix environments 

• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and/or Python scripting 

• Awareness of CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, and pipeline-based deployment processes 

• Experience with Newgen version upgrades, migration planning, regression support, and compatibility validation 

• Exposure to third-party integrations such as SingPass, Corppass, or core banking/enterprise systems 

Professional Certifications 

 

• Newgen Technical Certification on ECM and BPM 

• Relevant certifications in Java, Cloud Platforms (AWS/Azure), Kubernetes, or DevOps are advantageous
