About the role
KENT Consumer Brands Pet Australia is looking for an experienced Dispatch & Packing Supervisor to join our operations team in Queensland.
Reporting to the Factory Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day performance of our dispatch, warehouse and packing operations, leading the team while remaining actively involved on the floor.
This is not a desk-based supervisor role. You’ll coordinate people, priorities and workflow, support loading and dispatch activities, respond to operational issues and help ensure we deliver safely, accurately and efficiently.
If you’re an experienced warehouse or logistics supervisor who enjoys being close to the operation and leading a team from the front, this could be a great next step.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the warehouse and packing teams
- Manage workflow and resources to achieve packing and dispatch requirements
- Oversee the accurate assembly of orders and loading of outbound vehicles
- Coordinate receivals, warehousing, stock movements and dispatch activities
- Support forklift activities, including loading and unloading trucks
- Manage team rosters, overtime and resource allocation in line with operational requirements
- Ensure effective shift handovers and clear communication of priorities
- Lead toolbox talks, safety observations and incident investigations
- Coach and develop team members across safety, quality and operational practices
- Monitor operational issues and drive corrective actions through to completion
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, stock storage and workplace organisation
- Work closely with production and other operational teams to maintain efficient workflow
- Participate in site leadership meetings and support agreed operational initiatives
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for a practical leader who is comfortable balancing people leadership with the day-to-day demands of a busy operational environment.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Demonstrated experience in warehousing, dispatch or logistics operations
- Previous experience supervising or leading an operational team
- Strong knowledge of warehouse, dispatch and loading practices
- A hands-on leadership style and willingness to work alongside the team
- Strong safety awareness and experience promoting safe work practices
- Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively when priorities change
- Confidence managing workflow, resources, rosters and competing operational demands
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and develop team members
- Good systems capability, including Microsoft Office
- A current forklift licence or demonstrated forklift experience would be highly regarded
