About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director / Senior Director of Revenue Cycle Management based in the United States.
We are seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Management leader to build, optimize, and scale the revenue operations function within a fast-growing virtual pediatric healthcare environment. In this strategic, hands-on role, you will oversee the full revenue cycle, including payer contracting, billing accuracy, denials management, collections, and financial reconciliation. You will lead and develop the RevOps team while partnering closely with Finance, Credentialing, Patient Support, Clinical Operations, and other key stakeholders. Beyond managing day-to-day performance, you will identify the root causes of revenue cycle challenges and implement lasting improvements across systems and processes. This is an opportunity to shape a scalable, data-driven RCM function that supports accessible, coordinated care while protecting financial performance. The role offers the flexibility to work remotely within the United States or from a San Francisco-area office.

Lead, manage, and develop the Revenue Operations team, including the RevOps Lead and Associates, by setting priorities, coaching on complex cases, and building an organizational structure that can scale with business growth.
-
Define and execute payer contracting strategy, including negotiating rates and terms, managing the contract lifecycle, and ensuring contractual requirements are accurately configured and applied within billing systems.
-
Oversee billing operations and establish high standards for claims accuracy, coding integrity, clean-claim rates, and overall billing quality.
-
Own the end-to-end denials management process by monitoring trends across payers and reason codes, conducting structured root-cause analysis, and addressing underlying issues related to credentialing, contracting, and patient eligibility.
-
Build cross-functional processes with Patient Support, Provider Operations, Growth, Product, and other teams to resolve recurring denial drivers at their source and prevent future issues.
-
Manage payer remittance and financial reconciliation, including matching ERA/EOB remittances and claims-related bank activity against contracted terms.
-
Oversee collections and accounts receivable management, maintaining healthy aging balances and predictable cash flow.
-
Partner with the Head of Finance during month-end close, taking ownership of reconciliation deliverables, accounts receivable and denial reporting, and collections risk analysis.
-
Serve as the subject-matter expert on revenue cycle performance, translating detailed billing, collections, and denial data into clear recommendations for Finance, Patient Support, Provider Operations, and Clinical Operations.
-
Optimize billing processes, coding practices, tools, and documentation to improve accuracy, efficiency, and operational consistency.
-
Identify and implement scalable process and technology improvements, collaborating with Product and Engineering where appropriate.
-
Maintain appropriate operational controls, documentation, and processes to support audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and financial integrity.
-
5–7+ years of overall revenue cycle management experience, including at least 2–3+ years managing a team within billing, RCM, or a similar operations function.
-
Candidates with more extensive and progressively responsible experience, particularly in payer contract negotiation and revenue cycle leadership, may be considered for the Senior Director-level title.
-
Strong knowledge of payer contracting, medical billing, claims submission, coding integrity, denials management, collections, reconciliation, and accounts receivable operations.
-
Experience negotiating payer contracts and managing relationships across commercial, Medicaid, and self-pay payer categories, with an understanding of the different billing and collections requirements for each.
-
Demonstrated ability to investigate revenue cycle issues at their source, identifying whether problems stem from credentialing, contracting, eligibility, or other operational processes and implementing lasting solutions.
-
Strong analytical capabilities, including experience building and maintaining reports and trackers for collection rates, denial trends, and accounts receivable aging, and using data to drive operational improvements.
-
Proven cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to align teams across contracting, credentialing, patient access, finance, and clinical operations around shared outcomes.
-
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex billing and reconciliation issues clearly to both operational teams and senior finance leaders.
-
Strong judgment, ownership, and follow-through, combined with the ability to manage priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
