About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Product Management, Platforms based in the United States.
The Director of Product Management, Platforms will lead product strategy and business outcomes across a portfolio of cloud-based SaaS platforms, balancing technical excellence with commercial sustainability. The role spans both multi-tenant and single-tenant environments, with a focus on improving reliability, scalability, customer experience, and operational efficiency. You will shape platform capabilities that support customer growth, strengthen infrastructure, and create more flexible ways for customers to manage their environments. A key priority will be connecting product decisions to monetization, operating costs, and gross margin while developing clear business ownership across the portfolio. Working across engineering and business teams, you will translate complex platform challenges into strategic priorities and measurable results. This is a remote, director-level individual contributor opportunity for a strategic product leader who can influence at scale and help build sustainable platform businesses.
Accountabilities
-
Define and own the product strategy and roadmap across multi-tenant and single-tenant SaaS platforms, aligning technical capabilities with customer needs and business objectives.
-
Drive improvements in platform reliability, scalability, and operability, including stronger customer isolation and expansion of cell-based architecture.
-
Establish rate limits, usage limits, and monetization strategies that support sustainable growth and platform performance.
-
Scale single-tenant platform operations through maintenance-window automation, operational improvements, and cost optimization.
-
Expand customer self-service capabilities, enabling customers to monitor, observe, and manage their dedicated environments more independently.
-
Guide the development of advanced platform capabilities, including customer-initiated disaster recovery, geographic redundancy, and earlier access to beta features.
-
Reduce the time between product releases and their availability across dedicated environments.
-
Connect technical product direction with commercial performance, developing profit and loss (P&L) ownership across the platform portfolio.
-
Help establish a sustainable P&L model for the multi-tenant platform, balancing customer value, operating costs, and gross margin.
-
Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex challenges into clear priorities and successful product delivery.
-
Lead through strategic direction, communication, and influence in a director-level individual contributor capacity.
-
Experience leading a product portfolio at director level or with comparable scope, including setting strategy across multiple related products rather than managing a single roadmap.
-
Strong technical product management background in cloud platforms, infrastructure, or SaaS environments.
-
Understanding of the technical and operational tradeoffs involved in platform reliability, scalability, customer isolation, and service operations.
-
Ability to connect product strategy with commercial outcomes, including monetization, operating costs, profitability, and gross margin.
-
Experience translating complex platform and infrastructure challenges into actionable product priorities and coordinating cross-functional delivery.
-
Strong strategic leadership and stakeholder influence skills, with the ability to drive alignment without relying on direct people management.
-
Direct experience owning a product P&L is a significant advantage.
-
Familiarity with organizations adopting artificial intelligence as part of their products or internal workflows is beneficial.
-
Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance customer needs, technical constraints, and business priorities.
-
Annual base salary range of $203,200–$345,600 USD for US-based candidates, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
-
Equity compensation.
-
Employee stock purchase plan.
-
Flexible paid time off.
-
Benefits supporting health, finances, and overall well-being.
-
Parental leave.
