Lead Dietary Services That Enhance Resident Lives
Tiburon Hills Care Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Dietary Manager to oversee our Dietary Services Department. This leadership role is ideal for a passionate professional who is committed to providing exceptional nutritional care, outstanding food service, and a positive dining experience for residents in a skilled nursing environment.
As the Dietary Manager, you will lead a team dedicated to delivering safe, nutritious, and appetizing meals while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations and supporting resident health and satisfaction.
What You'll Do
Department Leadership
- Direct and oversee all daily operations of the Dietary Department
- Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate dietary staff
- Foster a positive, team-focused culture centered on resident satisfaction
- Conduct staff meetings, training programs, and ongoing education
Resident Nutrition & Care
- Ensure meals meet physician orders, therapeutic diets, and individual resident needs
- Assess resident food preferences, allergies, and nutritional concerns
- Complete nutritional documentation and monthly dietary notes
- Visit residents regularly to promote satisfaction and address dietary needs
- Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, activities, and interdisciplinary teams
Food Service & Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, portion control, and customer service
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal dietary regulations
- Maintain safe food handling, sanitation, infection control, and storage practices
- Process diet orders and maintain accurate diet records and resident information
- Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings
Budget & Inventory Management
- Manage departmental budgets and cost controls
- Order food, supplies, and equipment while maintaining inventory levels
- Assist with holiday meals, special events, and resident celebrations
- Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen and storage areas
Qualifications
Required
- Graduate of an approved Dietary Manager program meeting state and federal requirements
- Strong knowledge of food service operations, dietary regulations, and sanitation standards
- Leadership experience with staff supervision, scheduling, and training
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Preferred
- Minimum one year of dietary management experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Post-Acute Care, or Long-Term Care setting
- Experience with PointClickCare (PCC)
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential preferred
- Knowledge of therapeutic and modified diets
