About the role
Leading the Change in Youth Development
At Boys & Girls Clubs of King County, we're taking youth programming to a new level. We're a leader in youth development, providing a safe, affordable place for kids and teens during critical out-of-school time. Our Clubs offer life-changing programs and services to youth throughout the greater Seattle area.
As one of the largest Boys & Girls Club organizations in the United States, we have a rich history serving King County youth. If you're passionate about youth development, committed to social justice, love to connect with people, have a proven track record of results with youth, and want to be part of an extraordinary team, Boys & Girls Clubs of King County is for you!
Opportunity Overview: Creative Marketing Associate
Boys & Girls Clubs of King County (BGCKC) is seeking a Creative Marketing Associate to help fuel opportunities for young people across our region.
We’re looking for a generalist who thinks as strategically as they do creatively: someone who’s as excited to shape and measure a campaign as they are to bring it to life. You believe that human stories deserve to be told by humans, and you take pride in work made by hand, without the use of generative AI.
In this role, you’ll help tell the BGCKC story through mediums including graphic design, illustration, photo, video, and copy. From social media and email to print materials and events, your work will connect people to our mission. You’ll help shape the strategy and concept behind each campaign, then see it through from execution to reporting.
As a key member of a small team inside a large organization, you’ll be involved in much of BGCKC’s day-to-day creative work, and no two days will look the same. Our marketing team works with a high degree of autonomy and agility, adapting quickly as the organization's needs shift.
If you have professional design experience, a strong portfolio, and a passion for work that makes an impact, we encourage you to apply.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Campaigns:
- Help shape creative strategy and develop concepts for campaigns, initiatives, and seasonal priorities.
- Oversee the marketing editorial calendar, coordinating content timing across channels, campaigns, and events.
- Partner with our external media buying agency to plan, launch, and monitor paid social and digital ad campaigns.
- Help analyze campaign performance and develop recommendations for adjusting strategy, creative, and spend.
Design & Content Creation:
- Design engaging print and digital assets, including flyers, signage, social posts, presentations, reports, and event materials, following BGCKC brand guidelines, approved campaign direction, and design best practices.
- Design signature pieces such as the annual impact report, gala, and event materials.
- Support fundraising appeals with design and copy that inspire giving.
- Write clear, compelling copy and tell stories that highlight the impact of our Clubs on young people and families.
- Plan and shoot light-to-medium-lift photography at Clubs, events, and around the community, and create simple videos when needed.
- Create accessible, inclusive content, including alt text, captions, and readable layouts, that reflects the communities BGCKC serves, and coordinate translated materials as needed.
Digital Channels:
- Create, schedule, and publish content across BGCKC social media channels.
- Monitor social channels for messages and comments, responding directly or escalating to the right person as needed.
- Build and send email newsletters and other email communications.
- Manage simple website updates and blog posts, keeping content current and accurate and pages clear and easy to use.
Brand Stewardship & Collaboration:
- Keep the BGCKC brand consistent across all Clubs, channels, and materials.
- Collaborate closely with Resource Development, Club staff, and other internal teams to support program messaging and community outreach.
Creative Operations:
- Serve as one of the go-to creative resources for Club and program staff, helping manage incoming requests, set timelines, and balance competing priorities.
- Create and maintain easy-to-use templates that empower Club and program staff to make their own on-brand materials.
- Manage the photo and video library and brand assets, and make sure media releases are on file before any images of youth are used.
- Prepare files for print and coordinate with printers, vendors, outside photographers and videographers, and other freelancers.
- Track projects, deadlines, and approvals in Asana or similar tools, keeping clear records so every request moves smoothly from brief to delivery.
Budget, Analytics, & Reporting:
- Help track spending against the marketing budget for creative projects and campaigns.
- Support the review of data and analytics across social media, email, and the website, and share insights that help improve content and campaigns.
- Assist the Director of Marketing & External Relations in preparing regular reports on content and campaign performance for organizational leadership.
