Commercial Carpenter

Skillforce is hiring Commercial Carpenters for ongoing project work in Richmond, Virginia. As a Commercial Carpenter, you will be responsible for metal stud framing, door and hardware installation, ceilings, and interior finish carpentry on commercial job sites. Commercial Carpenter Pay:

• $26.00 to $31.00 per hour, set within that range based on your commercial carpentry experience.
• W-2 employment with weekly pay by direct deposit.
• Carpenters with both rough framing and finish experience are considered for the top of the range.

Commercial Carpenter Schedule:

• Monday through Friday on a standard morning shift.
• Steady work on commercial construction projects in Richmond, Virginia.
• No regular nights or weekends.

Commercial Carpenter Responsibilities:

• Read blueprints and construction drawings, and lay out walls, partitions, and openings to dimension.
• Frame interior walls, partitions, and soffits with metal and wood studs.
• Set hollow metal and wood door frames, hang doors, and install hardware, closers, and accessories.
• Install acoustical ceiling grid, interior trim, millwork, and cabinetry to a clean finish.
• Measure and cut materials accurately, follow all OSHA and jobsite safety rules, and keep your work area clean.

Commercial Carpenter Qualifications:

• You have commercial carpentry experience covering both rough framing and interior finish work.
• You can read blueprints and work independently from layout and dimensions.
• You can safely use hand and power tools, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for a full shift.
• You are authorized to work in the United States and can pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Drywall hanging experience, a completed carpentry apprenticeship, and an OSHA 10 card are all a plus.
