About the role
About CNC Industries
At CNC Industries, we’re a high-mix, low-volume machine shop specializing in complex components. Our customers often come to us with challenging parts, tight timelines, and work that requires more than simply loading an existing program and hitting cycle start.
That’s where this role comes in.
We’re looking for an experienced CNC Programmer who enjoys solving problems, developing machining processes, and taking a job from a new drawing through to a successful first run.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a CNC Programmer, you’ll have a lot of ownership over the work you create. You’ll work closely with our machinists to develop practical, repeatable processes that can perform on the shop floor.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Creating CNC programs and machining processes for new and existing projects
- Reviewing drawings and determining practical machining strategies
- Selecting tooling, workholding, and other requirements for new jobs
- Programming complex components using ESPRIT EDGE
- Developing processes for mill-turn equipment, 5-axis milling machines, and lathes
- Creating programs for FANUC, SEIMENS, HEIDENHAIN and MAZATROL machine controls
- Working directly with setup machinists during first-run production
- Troubleshooting programs, tooling, and processes when things don’t go according to plan
- Taking ownership of the processes you create and seeing them through to successful completion
- Reviewing completed jobs and implementing corrective actions to improve profitability and quality
What We’re Looking For
Ideally, you bring:
- 5+ years of experience setting up and running CNC machines
- 2+ years of experience with ESPRIT, or a similarly advanced CAD/CAM package
- Strong experience with mill-turn machines and 5-axis machining strategies
- Experience with API and oilfield threading
- A solid understanding of tooling, feeds and speeds, workholding, and machining strategy
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma
- The ability to work collaboratively with machinists while still taking ownership of your projects
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who understands machining from both sides: what works in the CAM system and what actually works at the machine.
Why Work With Us?
Good people do their best work when they’re given the tools, flexibility, and support to succeed.
At CNC Industries, we offer:
- Company-sponsored benefits
- RRSP matching program
- On-site gym
- Salaried position
- Flexible work times
- The opportunity to work on challenging, complex components instead of running the same parts every day
- A high-mix environment where your machining knowledge and problem-solving skills have a real impact
Interested?
If you’re an experienced CNC programmer who likes solving difficult machining problems, working with complex equipment, and seeing your ideas come to life on the shop floor, we’d like to hear from you.
Send us your resume and tell us a little about your machining and programming experience.
