About the role
Cable Technician
We are a global video and lighting service provider with multiple locations across the UK and the US. We bring an unrivalled service and technical know-how to every project we deliver, supporting exhibitions, concerts, touring, conferences, theatre, TV, film and retail.
We are seeking a Cable Prep Technician to join our UK warehouse team in Hertford and play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our cable department. This is a hands-on technical role, responsible for ensuring all cables, connectors, and consumables are maintained, tested, organised, and prepared to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, test, colour code, label, maintain, and organise cables and connectors in line with company quality standards
Maintain cable trunks, cable bags, spares, and consumables, reporting any shortages, damage, or missing items
Pull and prepare cables and equipment for jobs, working closely with the Warehouse, Operations, and Technical teams
Use company systems to check daily work, allocate equipment to jobs, and maintain accurate records
Support wider warehouse operations, including equipment preparation, stock taking, loading and unloading, and general warehouse maintenance
Assist the Logistics team with rigging and de-rigging activities when required
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment in line with Health & Safety standards
Complete relevant paperwork and timesheets accurately
About you
Previous experience working with professional AV, lighting, power, or data cabling is desirable
Good understanding of cable preparation, testing, maintenance, and organisation
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Organised and able to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable using computer systems and asset management software
Positive, proactive, and team-oriented approach to work
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments
Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to other company locations as required
Physically capable of lifting and moving equipment up to 25kg and working in an active warehouse environment
Flexible and willing to work overtime, evenings, and weekends when required
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician to develop their skills within a busy live events environment, supporting the preparation and maintenance of essential cable infrastructure across the business.
If you’re looking for your next challenge and bring the skills and enthusiasm required, we'd love to hear from you.
